Hey, I am currently 5 days into my veg, I have 4 seedlings ranging from 4-6 inches. My first real leaves are prominent. I have miracle grow nutes, 20-20-20. I don't know when to use it. Could anyone help?

Thank you- :joint:

Seedlings need NO nutes for at least 3 weeks, if not a month.

After that length of time, mix up a 1/4 strength solution and work up from there.

REMEMBER: Weekly, Weakly

Reply hit it on the mark, seedlings, and small sprouts do not need the nutrients. However, keep in mind that miracle grow is not always the safest fertilizer to use, especially if it uses time release nutes. You don't have much control using these forms of nutes because it will release the nutrients over time, and if levels of different nutrients get too high you will have to flush your medium by running water through it, thereby eliminating the fertilizer entirely and putting you in a position where you have sickly plants ( if you caught the over nute problem by visual cues and not by constantly checking ph levels and visual signs of salt build up ).

I would suggest looking at nutrient lines that are commonly used by other growers. These nutes can be intimidating to figure out, but most brands have at least a basic nutrient used for vegetative and one for flowering. These often come with feeding schedules too to help guide you towards proper feeding levels.

The three types of nutrients:
synthetic. usually produces much more yield, but can lack in the taste department according to some
organicly derived. better taste less yield.
and organic. natural stuff that hasn't been processed ( bird poop or bat guano, molasses etc. ). most common with soil or outdoor grows. but some things work well in hydro. A tablespoon of molasses per gallon of water is a common supplementary nutrient many growers use in order to supply the plants with more sugars and carbs ( for bigger better buds :) )

Fox farms is a good choice for organically derived nutrients that will work in both hydro or soil.
Advanced Nutrients carries an organically derived line as well as their synthetic line.
General Hydroponics would be another brand to check out.

Hope this helps,
