Hello,
No and no to both questions :).I flushed all my plants last night to start out fresh.I am going to cut the nutrients in half and add a little molasses to make up some.I think it was overkill with nutrients.I have two strains ,Blue Dream are doing fine Grandaddy Sour Diesel is not liking the nutrients.I use same amount on both plants.I will wait and see what happens next. :). Thanks for the help :).

good idea, except for the molasses. you're plants cannot eat molasses, it wont make up for any plant nutrients. you're already feeding at 1/2 to fix the over feeding. I never ever saw a plant die from not enough nutrient solution

Molasses is fed to soil to feed the bennies not your plant bennies eat it poop out good stuff for the plants and in turn the plant poops out sugars back in the soil, its a wonderful life cycle if you wanna help that plant cut those FF nutes to 25% of what they call for and also start addind tsp of epsom sale in the watering per gallon, dont need to feed the tiger bloom until they are 3 weeks into flower also, if you wanna get the microbes goin in the soil buy some recharge and add that to watering as well.

I'm still trying to understand when flushing is correct. Was he correct to flush?

I think flushing is a term used to describe washing away excess salts from substrate in a hydroponic system.
Pouring water through over fed soil in order to cleanse the plant of excess salts is futile imo. The times that I've over fed
a flowering mj plant is was fail from there on, right to the compost. No amount of flushing could help correct my errors.

but the term is so comfortable, like "I'll jam my plant with fertilizers...no worries, it was flushed really well'
"Ew, this weed wasnt flushed" (truth-plant was over fed in flower)

I add biweely dry ferts to my 5gal pails. Water only in between(flushed?)
I dont add ferts in the last 2 weeks but water only(flushed? I dunno)

After flushing the problem plants they seem to be recovering rather nicely. I read that flushing should be done periodically.I can see why I measured the ppm's in the water I flushed and it was around 600-700 PPm .I will be feeding them shortly and will keep an eye on Nutrients a little better. Tahnks for all the advice :).
