This may sound stupid but does anyone have suggestions to stopping my dog from eating my weed. I grow indoors but started growing some outdoors for a change. Problem is my husky likes to eat them .... always has.

teach him not to, grow them in some kind of cage or fencing that your dog cant/wont get in. one of those electric boundry color things would be an easy fix. you can set them where you dog will only get shocked if he gets in the set perimeter. there are probably other things that you could grow around it to repel him but id just teach my dog not to do it.

If your dog has grown a taste for weed, there is little you can do about it training wise. Even if you beat your dog, it will go for the weed when your not there. The only thing you can do is create some kind of barrier between the dog and the plants.

attach a wire around your plant and stick on a low voltage battery to it he will soon (after zapping himself many time) associate going near the plant as being bad/painful and won't do it again.

u should dedicate 2 plants for the dog. teach him to eat his weed and not yours. that way both of u guys can stay high. theres a vet where i live and she will give animals a mmj licence. so your covered.

LOL Thats a good idea...and maybe you can convince the cops that you're only growing for your dog, but it's okay cause he's legal!

maybe bitters would work, I don't think they will effect the plant adversely, its something to look into and cost effective.. also used to train dogs ask Concord Dawn

Im sorry but the only reasonable option is to first Torture your Dog for eating it in the 1st place.. then Put the dog down yourself by strangling it like Dr. Nevil did his on "I AM LEGEND" cause the only good weed eating dog.. is a Dead Weed Eating Dog

Pepper Dust

  • For outdoor animal fouling control
  • Ready to use Pepper Dust can be used to discourage pets from seed beds, recent plantings, drives, dustbins, paths and patios in a cost effective, easy to use form.
  • The Pepper Dust works by confusing the animals sense of taste and smell to ensure that it will stay off the areas you wish to protect.
  • For best results it is important that all animal droppings and smells are removed prior to using all deterrent products.
  • Animal smells can be broken down by treating the area with a weak detergent solution.
  • Children and pets need not be excluded from treated areas.
  • Contains pepper
  • Apply: At the first signs of unwanted animal fouling activity.

Hi-
I am not too worried about you losing your bud rather.....Marijuana is poisionious to dogs and it's really bad for them to eat, inhale or otherwise ingest pot. DON'T freak! Just keep the dog away from it-maybe some bird netting, a tomatoe cage or something. Also, try to grow a container of fresh grass in a flower pot, once it sprouts and is green and long....give this to your dog to eat. You could have some for the dog inside and outside the house. They love to eat grass and this could lessen the dog's desire to eat your herb. I hope this helps some. I love Huskies!bongsmilie

In regards to the "Pepper Dust"...........it sounds like a great product. My ??? would be, does it somehow attach itself to the pot plant thus buring the !#$%$*! outta your mouth, lungs and sinuses? I just get nervous putting out pestisides and other baits to keep out animals. It may get absorbed by the plant-I am NO authrority on this but my gut tells me to avoid something that might get drawn into the root system or the wind may dust up some onto the leaves/buds and then you got a tainted plant with some highly painful side effects.

Its kinda funny but I know when it is happening to you it is not very funny! My lab used to eat weed. At that time I did not have plants but if she smelled it anywhere she would get it. One time it was in my pants pocket and she chewed a hole right through my jeans! The most she ever ate was about a quarter and she was messed up!!! She finally just grew out of it I guess. Sorry I dont have any advice on how to keep her out of your plants. I would go with the others though and try to maybe cage your plants or build a small fence around them so she cant get to them

GOOD LUCK!

if you are growing legally then build a fence if not get the Pepper look at all your options and weigh them out. a fence can attract the attention of others that you might not want attention from

They have shock collars with invisible perimiters for yards. Instead rigging it for your yard, you could invert it around your plants? Whenever he gets too close...zap!
