Help! quick question!

i want to start a seed in a little dwc setup cuz i read that plants grow way faster in hydro than soil. dont even think the containter is a gallon but its ok, im just doing it to start my seed to get it a koo size then im puttin it into soil outside. but my question is can i put the seed directly in the hydroton balls, clay pellets (watever theyre called) without the seed being in a rockwool cube, rapid rooter plug, etc.? n if not, what can i put them in cuz i dont have any rockwool or rapid rooter plugs left over. thanks

Alright, despite how terrilbly wrong your methods were I'll help you out.

I bought a huge pack of rockwool cubes for $6. If you need something on the fly a cotton ball comes to mind although I have no experience with it. One drawback might be that cotton tends to release moisture while rockwool is made to hold it.

Don't put the seed directly in the hydroton, it will almost certainly fall through.

Im no expert but i dont think you can put it directly into the clay balls mate, Defo never heard of any1 ever doing it.
