Please someone help me kill these SOBs!! I notice my plants are slow in vigor and new growth is a bit twisty and yellowish. I can see these little fuckers crawling around the top of the soil only when I water and then they disappear back into the soil. Very hard to get a pic.

Not sure I could find a single aphid in any of those pics. You sure that's what you got? Where's the winged ones? You should be seeing them flying around and hanging out on the leaves. What color are yours? If they're off white, likely soil mites not aphids.

add a few cinnamon sticks (2) with a few tiny pieces of fresh ginger (3 to 5) and a garlic piece to 1L of water. Bring it to 85-90C (don't boil). Let sit until it cools down. Add that to 1L of water and water your plants lightly. Repeat 3 days later

yes I think you may be right. They are sooo small, but I can tell there’s a lot when I water. I see them scurry around the soil, but I don’t see any flying around, nor do I see them on any leaves or stalk. And I think they are sort of off white so maybe they are soil mites. How much do you recommend me stopping these fuckers ?!

I believe I have soil mites actually and not root aphids. Does this mixture work for mites as well?!

22WP + Azadirachtin + pyrethrins
or
22WP + nematodes to spread it
There is also a Bayer product that is inorganic that is used, toxic and cancer, etc..

Good luck, sterilize everything and wait a while before restarting.

 How To Control Root Aphids
I think they may be soil mites rather than root aphids actually. I don’t see any on the plant itself nor do I see anything flying. Are mites different to kill/control than root aphids?

you need to get a microscope and make sure what is in there. aphids don't turn into fliers until they have complete infestation and need more space. once you have them, you probably will never get rid of them, yet you can control them. if they are soil mites, leave em alone, they are harmless. get a scope and make sure what you have first. then act.

if they are soil mites then just buy some diatomaceous earth and sprinkle it on top of the soil..organic and non toxic....like perlite, be careful not to breathe it in as it can severely irritate your lungs..the diatomaceous earth is made up of sharp microscopic diatoms that cut/pierce and dessicate the bodys of soil pests

Make yourself sure before you start to put bad stuff into your soil. Springtails are beneficial when they are not out of hand!

oh shoot now that I’m looking up what springtails are I think you’re right! I haven’t seen them on my plants only in my soil. But beneficial or not I didn’t put them there and I don’t want bugs in my indoor grow. I’ve read to sprinkle diatomaceous on top of the soil

Not so clever... You will not get rid of springtails without negative effect on your plants. You probably find it out later but you can try. Just leave the soil dry out completely between waterings and you will go thru without issues. I have noticed that the plant with springtails goes better. Think about that...

I really don’t know if they’re def springtails. But I bought Diatomaceous Earth to sprinkle on top of the soil. Maybe they’re beneficial but I’ve noticed some stunted growth, some leaf twisting, and yellowing new growth, so I want to rule out bugs as my issue. And plus I just don’t want any bugs inside my closet honestly

yep, that's it! just make sure not to breathe it in ..especially during these times..it's like breathing in glass lol but yeah that should kill any crawlies on the soil...also it only works when it's dry, so don't wet the soil after applying

Awesome. I watered yesterday, should I be waiting a few days for them to dry up before sprinkling it on top of the soil? What would you suggest as far as application and how much I should apply ?

i would probably wait till tommorow but it wouldn't hurt to apply it today as it drys up with the soil and becomes 'active' again..youll be able to tell when its wet/dry..it looks pasty when wet ..i would just sprinkle a light dusting over the soil just enough so you dont see any soil ..that should be enough but if the problem doesnt go away it wouldn't hurt to apply some more..i'm pretty sure Diatomaceous earth has some beneficial minerals as well but not 100%

When you see issues connected with than your attitude is correct...
