HELP!! - Setting up my new Secret Jardin Grow tent..

I bought a Secret Jardin DR100 grow tent today and am having some difficulty understanding a few things..

It came with some "Plug & Grow Easy Rollers" and I have no idea how to attach these or lock the height I want? This means I can't put my lighting up securely and my ladies are just sitting in normal room light!

The other thing is do I leave all the cabling for the lights, exhaust, intake fan inside or outside the tent, I would have thought outside but I can't find a way of running them to the outside without leaving space for light to get in?

Any pics and explanations would be great as im trying to finish the set up now but have no instructions :(

For the easy rollers you want to hook them to the top of the tent(to the frame or something sturdy), I attached a couple pics of my hangers. You dont really lock them, just set the tension so you can move your light up and down freely. Once you hook them to your light, tighten them until the light doesn't move down, check and see if the light lifts up easily, if it doesn't, loosen and repeat...

Try to keep your cabling as clean as possible(ignore the mess in the pics:mrgreen:)

Hello, on top of the frame there are four cross bars put two in each direction put one set on top of the others, this will be the pair you hang the light from with the weight spread over the four bars. There are multiple holes to run your cables through with pull strings to close them tight around the cable to prevent light leakage. I ran my light cables in the small one on the back near the top to have the wires coming in above the light. Just pull all the unused hole draw strings tight to close them up. I hope this helps.

The easy rollers came with hooks that attach to the top of th bit these have screw end which won't attach to the bars of the tent?

I have figured out the weight of the light will stop the easy rollers from retracting (noob!) but attatching the easy rollers securely to the poles is still the issue.

I also would like to know (I have searched but can't find pics) where to mount the exhaust fan, inside or outside on top of the tent?

Cheers for the help so far :) + rep.

I am not sure on the easy rollers as I did not use them with my tent, it looks like they have eyes on them, would the poles fit through the eyes? if not you could use tie wraps or if they have screws yo could place a 2x4 across the top over thecross poles and screw them to that. As for the fan I would mount it on the outside and duct out of one of the top holes. You could place the fan directly on the top of the tent with the intake in the hole or you could mount your fan close to the tent and use some flex duct.

Dude, I couldn't really get those rollers to do a thing for me, they wouldn't even lock well enough to hold the weight of a enclosed 6" vented Euro reflector (400w). I chucked them and got just got some carabeaners and a sturdy chain and some 's' hooks, works like a charm and I can even use the chains if i want to help support plants if need be since they are so strong (the tent will go before they do).

I have a DR100 and I love it.

Heres a exhaust question for you though, how are you guys venting your exhaust from your tent? The 6" ducks are to big to bend down and then go back up, it makes to much of a bend in the duck. Is this a problem with anyone else? Because of this I have to keep my light high and bring my plants closer to it. I can get some play in the ducking but not enough to move my light more than 6-8 inches. Do you guys vent your tents in a more effective way then me?

My exhaust fan is mounted right at the top of my tent and vents it nicely.
Is there much bend in your ducting? It really hurts the airflow, I've just tried it both ways and when there is no bend it is much more effective. I'm using a 250cfm inline duct fan.
Temps have been pretty good but it's been cold too, when it starts heating up real soon it should be interesting... I have a secret weapon for that though, so we'll see...

I have them but they are really more of a pain in the ass. But it sounds like you need some s hooks to make it work. here is my set up to give you an idea. Oh and the duct tape is only to hold the extra duct when the light is up high. I use hose clamps to make the connections. Yes a straight duct is best but hard to get to work out in most set ups so you just do the best you can

I see. thx!

Is it hot in your tent since your venting light heat back into it?

im venting the heat out....Hot air is pulled in the filter through the light then through the fan out the tent. it stays at 80 lights on and 70 lights off.

Dude ONE 250cfm works perfect on my tent, fan is in the "duct hole" at the top and then it has ducting running from THAT - OUTSIDE THE TENT - TO A HOLE THAT LEADS OUTSIDE OF MY GARAGE. Oh and a DIY carbon filter made out of an old 6" plant potter and activated carbon...

Go stick your nose AGAINST the ducting where its blowing outdoors.... Nothing! Even tho theres a full blown WW in flower in there! And temps sstay at a perfect 80 during day and 65 at night, that's just with the ducting and articulating fans inside the tent!
