Help Testing Potency

I’m at just about 8 weeks. I took a bud sample, two days later tried it. I wasn’t that impressed. I didn’t fully dry it or cure it. What’s the best way to test your crop for potency?

Here you go there is a few plants I clipped from bottom. I had light close on the bottom pictures and foxtailed. Now I’m paranoid

Looks like that have 3+ weeks to go do I can see that it's not that good yet
Bob-

thanks in my 4x4 the majority of pictures (minus foxtails) I upgraded from 500watt to 680. I feel I did it in week 6hence the size. I’m ok with tricomes.

I’m pretty worried in my 5x5 with the hairy buds. I upgraded from 680 to 1k week 6. The light was too close a lot of leafs went bad and hairs came out. The hair colors just don’t seem to be changing. I have nothing to do but wait. It’s a Sativa, so I was thinking to wait at least 9 weeks.

I tested buds on the bottom that could be it too. Anyhow never seen buds with hairs like that but this is my first grow.

Thanks

your plants are starving, give a bit more fertilizer
I wasn’t sure I thought I was giving to much bloom leafs were going bad it was the light being to close.

Plants drink 5 gallons every 2 days total. I’m putting like two tablespoons in twice a week now. I had to lay off the fert till I ruled out light or fert. I assumed fert since my first time growing light was a rookie mistake

Well I'd give them a balanced mineralic veg formulae that has also a good amount of N, Ca, Mg, S & Fe in it.
Immobile nutritient def -> starts at the top + N def (see bottom fanleaves)

I topped my fox farms off week 5-6. I always give cal mag. Bonicare bloom has a little phosphate and nitrogen. I do see the leaf though
