Its an analogy Do you understand what an analogy is?
Case 1.
Eat it cause it tastes good, no worries cause you can eject it later anyhow and not get fat.

Case 2.
Feed the plant, since you can chop it off anyhow and grow it back anyhow cause all you will see are buds when all the leaves are gone.

I do pinch the smaller buds off the lower branches leaving the ones on the tips. That is the only thing I remove from my plants. Kinda like pinching suckers on tomatos.
I leave the top half of my plant as is.
