Help! What strain to use?

Hello, I am fairly new at ganja growing and need some advice. I have only grown one time before and did not get a very good yield. This time I wanted to try things a little differently.
I have a 600W HPS light for flowering and a 600W MH conversion bulb for vegging. I am growing in my friend's attic so I do not have very much space. I was wondering what strain would be a good one to use. There are so many choices and I really can't choose. I need a indoor strain, preferably indica, that does not grow very tall, has a pretty high yield, and is easy to grow. I want to take some clones so I do not want to use any auto-flowering strain.
Also, I would like to know what size pots I should use (I was thinking 5 gallon) and how many plants a 600W light could support. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The rule of thumb for a good yield is 50 watts per square feet of floor space. The size of the end plant will depend upon your headroom. Most plants double or triple in height during the flowering cycle. If you're not growing giant plants, two-gallon pots will do just fine. They will handle plants that end up at three feet or so. If you want a knock-out stone, I'd recommend Legend's Ultimate Indica. Great for pain relief and insomnia. If you want a combo high, both head and body, I'd recommend Joey Weed's AK-47, or his AK-47 x C-99. Here's where to order: http://www.hempdepot.ca/seeds/joeyweed/index.html

well Northern Lights is an indica strain, high THC level, flowering is 8-9 weeks, yeild is 350-450 grams per m2. (indoors)
it is very forgiving during veg stage and tolerates high temps. (so good for new growers)

i got one that i top using Uncle Ben's topping technique, that is 4 weeks in flower and is only 17" tall.

I love indica for that short and stout very good yield and mine just measured and thought 3ft or so only 26in and they're thick has all hell thats why i grow indica purple kush is a very hardy plant u would have to try to kill these things and they would still have a 50/50 shot, very easy to grow!:leaf::leaf:

Ok, thanks for all the help. I have one other question. Would Uncle Ben's topping technique be better or should I just grow using screen of green? Which would be easier and what would give be the best yield for the space?
