help!! what to do next, flower or not to flower

right peeps im a few weeks into my first grow, am unsure of the strain of my babys as all were cuttings i got from a friend of a friend and he told me they are a cheese but to be honest all good weed around were i live ends up being cheese so could be anything, they are under a 600watt h bulb on a 18-6 cycle,in canna coco, and i am feeding them on formulex only at the mo (only coz it was advised by the lad i got em off) once a day, so im unsure what to do next ive been told there all ready for flowering and also naa not yet so i need help?? is there a time you should start flowering eg amount of leaves, size ect i know there is a lot of growth during flowering so i dont want them over 4foot tall, also ineed some advise on nutes whats good and bad, and is there anything that will enhance the yeld and taste, all help and advise appreciated

Hi Mate, Your plants are looking ok/ish. Here is a few tips for you.

You said you dont want them to get over 4ft, well when you put the plant into flowering if doubles in size.

(eg, if you put a plant into flowering when its 30cm tall, it will be around 90cms tall at harvest, depending on strain of course)

You said you have a 600w light, make sure that the light is always 1.5 foot above the plants.

If you can spair a few £s then try and get canna veg, canna Flores, & Canna boost with pk 13 & 14. These will mayjorly boost productivity if used well.

i have already got canna a and b, will get pk 13 14 this weekend, is there any other good nutes you could point me too!!
you say double in size? i only say 4 foot coz there in a 1m+1m+4m tent so could go a lil taller really

Yeah they look ok. How long have then been in Vegg for (18light / 6dark).

Also not sure if im missing something but you said you already got Canna A + B?

I think that the Canna A + B 2 part solution is for Hydro setups not soil mediums. And from your pics it looking like you a soil grower so you need Canna Vega & Canna Terra.

Also you dont wanna over Nuit, just stick to Canna Vega , terra and cana boost with PK13/14 that should be good enought start to finish.

Also, just coz you siad you new, dont let anything disturb the dark period. So no little peeking i know its hard but will be much better for you in the end.

they have been on 18-6 for 2 and a half weeks now as were bigish cuttings,
i bought the canna a and b when i bought the set up, tryed to get all i needed in one go (never works out tho do it),havent used it yet, do i not need it tho?
and yeah i know the importance of the dark period and deffo dont peek during this altho takes a lot of will power. lol.

Yeah i wouldnt reccomend using hydro nuits for soil grows lol its got a diffrent N-P-K ratio so get the Vegga and Terra as soon as you can. You could put them into flowering now but i would wait until you have the right nuits for that before hand.

Also get a PH tester, that is money well spent in my book. Also when you do start correct feeding make sure you flush reguarly.

Try and get a few more pics if you can cant really get a close look with the ones you got.

i have got a ph testing kit and ph all water my girls have, you say flush??? do you have to do this throughout the flowering period? i know it needs doing towards the end b4 harvest.

anyone else got any thoughts or tips????

without being a pain i decided to av a look at the other nutes you were on about an came across this, taken from growells website We highly recommend using both Canna PK13/14 and Canna Boost Accelerator in conjunction with this nutrient for maximum flowering/fruiting performance."" Suitable for use with both Canna and Galuku Coco growing media"".
anyone else know wether canna a and b is for coco media or hydro, im starting to get grey hair

Trust me man if you got a 2 part canna solutions (A+B) then thats for hydro.
Granted they could of brought somthing out new and i could be wrong but for soild grow u need Vega & Terra.

Also yeah use canna boost as soon as you show signs of flowering. Here is the nut cracker - only use PK13/14 once in week 6-7 of flowering.

Check out the canna website for feeding sched.

Yeah you need to flush to get rid of the salt builf up from your medium. (soil).

- eg, if you have a 10ltr pott then flush with 15 ltrs of PH ajusted water. This is how you bring down the EC of your cannabis plant.

Was just looking at the few pics you put up and think you said that your friend who gave it to you said it was cheese.

I wouldnt keep thinking that. If you look at the leaves on them, they are mainly braud brazilian sativa leafs. And depending on what Cheese Pheno your friend has i wouldnt put money on it being cheese.

There is a few cheeses about now days but the real cheese is that of UK exoduse cheese. (thats where it all started)

I think you gonna end up with some very tall plants if the mainly sativas lol. We talking 6 foot min and 12 - 14 weeks flowering lol

yeah i was unsure what strain they are, as like i said any good stuff round my way ends up being called cheese (think poeple have forgotten there it hundreds of strains lol) so i took what he said with a pinch of salt. you say maybe 6footers shit, so really i need to start flowering really dont i?. is there anything i can do for them to keep em smallish, have looked at topping n that but it scares me a lil bit if im honest

Yeah im a fellow brit m8, yeah as they are sativas i would get them into 12/12 asap. (Thats just what i would do)

You couild topp them if you wanted but i only tend to topp Indicas not sativas. You can of course topp it if you want but would save that for your next grow.

For a hight issue You can leave in complete darkness for 48hours before switching to 12/12 this changes the photo period of the plant more fast and puts all enegy into flowering not vegg growth.

To be honest it all depends on what you want the end result to be.

When i had my first grow i just gave it light water and darkness, didnt get a lot off it but what i did get was okish, learnt alot and then it got better as the grows went along.

Dont get me wrong im no commersh grower i just enjoy a nice smoke of clean weed, i have no interest in dealing with children that are wanna be gangsters and im really fed up with getting weed thats been contaminated.

Also no matter what you get out of your babys save all the trim and make some bubble or gumby hash. Better than any smoke you will get of thoes plants man

not knowing the exact strain makes things fluid but flower at about 13 to 16 inches to stay at 4 foot mark ,again u dont no strain but properly flushing for flavor without adding anything but its alot you can add think floranectar is one have to check if can be used for coco.go to local hydro store website .

I dunno man, a 4ft sativa, thats wishfull thinking. Can tell from just looking at the leafs its on the Sativa side more than anything. Green House Seeds have Arjans Haze #3 and they claim its the worlds shortest sativa growing at 5ft. Not sure if it is the worlds smallest sativa but def worth a go in my book.

Mate, i really think you should relocate one or two of your babys to the garden if you can. Check out a old grow i had on here its call Thai Haze x Skunk1 grow. Thoes girls wasnt even in vegg for long and look how tall they got.

Personaly mate if it was me i would get rid of at least 1 of them, in the space you have its gonna get packed in there with 4 Sativa girls all budding and its gonna block out some serious light on some internods.
Thats what i would do but, each to there own m8.
