My girl is a blue rhino that is 8ft wide & 5ft 6in tall with a huge stalk.. And the arms coming off the stalk are like 4ft 6in but they look like there starting to split open has anyone else ever had this occur... And also is it a better idea to trim leaves off when it starts to flower or just leave it.

Never seen it before.
Maybe the branch got twisted by the wind and it's like some kind of spiral fracture.

Good luck

Yea some of them are twisted... Checked for borers many times... Could it be that the branch is jus too big because the ones that have the split are the biggest branches.

I think when the plant tries to thicken too quickly it can crack the bark like that, somewhat like skin stretch marks? It looks similar to cracks seen on healing wounds like a failed supercrop.

Could it be from tieing it Down... Because the plant is almost completely vertical.. On the left were the tiki torches are that is the main top of the plant and all the other branches are all tied down. I pull them about a 1/4 in. Every 4days could this be the cause...
