Help with a watering solution

Truth is you will notice a growth spurt right before soil drys out. A side by side will show the true winner. Did this back in the early 90's in a soil closet grow. Noted the results and never looked back.

so snap would u say its better to not water to 20% runoff as many have suggested? Everytime i water i water till i get some good runoff because considering when you first see the runoff it is usually because it took the path of least resistance and as u said goes down the sides. however, my soil takes 4-5 days to dry out after i water

i'm not kissing ass here. I see how much you help. and I know how much you've helped me. Even when people want to argue with you, you generally just walk away, instead of getting pissy like so many other "experts" around here. You handle yourself with class and integrity imo. There are few around here with the level of knowledge you have who are so gracious...

we are lucky to have you.

that's the truth
Snaps is good people. He has every answer big or small. The amount of knowledge from experience is irreplaceable and finding people like him willing to help others w/out judgment says a lot about him as a man. This forum is lucky to have him.

When you do water you need to do it slowly or in increments or it all runs down the sides and out the bottom.

You want water to run thru the medium and out the bottom as this slows salt buildups. Flush coco with pH adjusted tap water every three weeks, following immediately with feed.
At least 20% imo.

sorry if this is a repeat solution but I have a 4x4 tent, 600W light, coco and CNS17 nutes and my 1st yield was outright insane:

I use a controller with seconds intervals but someone I know uses a simple electronic timer and does 1 minute intervals 3x a day...

when delivered via 1/4 vinyl tube and a 300 LPH pump, it provides almost exactly 10% runoff daily...

we use regular 1/2" sprinler tubing and 1/4" blk vinyl feeders off of that...Home Depot or Lowes has all the shit...You will be wasting $$ if you buy a 100ft roll of 1/2 flex, but maybe see if a sprinkler supplier will let you cop 10 ft ....

I can write up a parts list and instructions but you can probably picture what I'm saying

Use a larger 30 gallon mix tank. Install a 3/4" bulkheas fitting in the side as close to base as you can without leaks. Set tank up on cinder blocks for gravity or use a pump. Connect a shutoff valve, hose and watering wand. Now your rocking.
I second that Snaps gives good consistent advice...

Soon I am setting something like this up for my soil grow in a 5x5. Taking off on vacation for 9 days. They will only need water 2 or 3 times when I am away but don't want anyone coming in the house. I need to water the tent and the veg room. I bought 2 20 gallon garbage cans, 2 400GPH submersible aquarium pumps, 2 programmable digital timers, and soon will be going to the hydro store to pick up the hoses and spray fittings. In the tent each plant will get an individual spray fitting over their pot. For the veg room I just bought some plastic seedling trays I will spray into so the plants can soak up the water they need. If I was only putting one system together it would cost less than $80... using ebay for most of the items.
