Help with clones! (please)- pics

These clones are not doing so hot (obviously). They are actually more yellow in person than the photos portray. Suggestions? The one on the far left in the group photo is doing pretty well, and its the only one for some reason. No ferts in the soil yet. Just some super thrive and fish emulsion in the cloner. They seemed so much better before being planted. They have been really wet for a while, though. The soil doesn't wanna dry so much...retains water for ages. The roots look healthy, poking out the drainage holes.

Please Help.

it looks like either ph issues, soil constitution, or classic miracle grow problems. what soil is it? if the soil is quality i say its the ph.

im with the goat.
if possible, test your runoff ph.
also, try and get like a clone heat mat to put them on and try and dry them out.
moderate heat stimulates root growth and roots expand in dry soil in search of moisture.

Thanks for the reply. The soil is Scott's potting soil from Home Depot. Thought it was decent. First time using it, though. It could be ph, but I don't know why just the one plant is doing well...Can't really afford a fancy ph meter right now. Do the paper strips work well?

Thanks. Any recommendations on a cheap, but accurate, method of ph reading? The clone heat mat sounds promising...being broke sucks, but I will find a way. Thanks again.

dont use the paper tests, cause they have a pool ph tester at walmart (the liquid test). scott's sucks imo, black gold would be a better option.

your best bet is to switch soils, looks like its holding too much water, these things dont like wet feet, what are the temps and humidity in your grow area? and surface temps of the leaves?
for my money i stick with happy frog soil, carried by any good indor gardening store. i team that up with 14 drops of schultz 10-15-10 every 2 weeks or so, AFTER the first 2 weeks of being in the new soil.

your plants cant breath if your soil is saturated all the time...when you transplant you should include some perlite your mix and get that medium nice and airy....i recently started using coco...this stuff is awsome...its fluffs your soil so well, no nutes so its nutral to work with, and it best of all it doesnt consolidate.

Thanks everybody for the helpful advice. Much appreciated. I'm gonna get some different soil, but I'm not near any specialty/hydroponic stores, just hardware stores and a calloway's nursery. Plus, my broke ass can't really afford the primo soil right now. I'll have to get something cheap and doctor it up to make it comparable to the good stuff.

Sparki, what common name brand soil would you recommend if you had to get one as a base to add perlite and some coco to?

I know not having funds is a pretty sad excuse. We should all sacrifice for our babies, but I am in a sad state with finances at the moment. Trying to do what I can...

liquid tester is awesome, you test the water before it goes into the soil, and test the runoff water to see the potential fluctuation.

use black gold soil, i got it at walgreens/hardware places, this stuff is awesome. no ammendments necesarily needed.
