Help with Defoliation and Super Cropping (bend)

Hello,

I raped my plants yesterday. I did both defoliation and I crushed lots of branches.
My question is - how much time would it take to recover? I am in the first week of flowering.

Another question - is it better to overwater or underwater in this situation?

You should let the top inch or so of your soil dry out from my experience to prevent pests/mildews. I never got how defoliation can benefit a plant! Yes to removing 100% yellow fan leaves but just ripping of green health leaves can help benefit the plant how? To me that is a lot of unnecessary stress you are causing your plant. It's like your trying to reverse the plant from developing/ growing healthy. Leaves are like the power-plants especially for budding development. It is counter productive to maintaining healthy plants. There are several other threads that go into detail about defoliating.

I had to do it because plants are strertching too much. They are 60cm in first week of flowering. Last time they reached 5ft. I hope that all that growpower will go towards flowering instead. Some people make 0.3 - 0.5kg per plant using this technique. Its first for me.

Its already done though. Plants have shown signs of recovery.

I would try incorporating a trellis or tomato cage to train and tie it back. In certain cases I cut the tops into clones if they were to tall and redistribute growth hormones to other lower colas. If it is the first week of flower you could probably still clone them. I've taken clones as late as 4 weeks+
My last grow the plants got way to tall in veg like five feet, so I setup a trellis in the flower room and bent the plants almost completely over. They needed to be twist-tied to the trellis until the new lateral branches grew through.
Some people harvest pounds per plant, but they are actual trees haha. The size of the plant and root zone is more deterministic than using a technique.
One technique I do recommend is lollipop ping!
