Help with first coco plant

Trying coco for the first time everything going well except this one plant. Woke up today it was looking like this. T5 light was 2-3 inches away. I ph water to 5.8-6.2. Temps in lower 80's humidity 50% . I been feeding it different fertilizer Trying to figure out which is best. Mostly fish emulsion and fish hydrolysate. It was in a small jiffy pot I just transplanted it today when I saw the damage thought it might help. Is this a PH issue ?

Anybody ?

I'm in the same boat as you. Working on my first coco grow, it's a learning curve for sure.
I've never grown with organics though.
Are you using any sort of cal-mag?
Very important when growing with coco.

You're going to need more than just that fish hydrolysate if you're growing in coco. And not all fish hydrolysates are the same.

What exactly are you using? Brand, etc... But regardless that's not going keep the plant happy by itself. Coco is inert so you have to provide everything.

Calmag isn't required if you provide enough calcium in your nutrients. I've grown in coco for years and have never used calmag. It's an additive that you may need to use depending on what nutrients you're using.

Coco is as easy or as hard as you make it. I've found it to be the easiest substrate to grow in. It's only complicated if you get caught up in all the bad information on websites and youtube.

I forgot to ask. Is that entire pot filled with that type of coco? Or is that just a top layer.

You don't treat coco like soil so you don't want to let it dry out.

Yeah, organics is a different ball game. I just googled some organics information on the fish products he was using and didn't see any sort of calcium or magnesium in them.

It's half motherearth half the stuff you see on top. I been feeding it Alaska 5-1-1 and a sample I got from impello of their organic grow (5-4-2) liquid fertilizer. I also tried this other product I have which is 6-5-5 and it has calcium in it. What Do you ph your feed to and how often do you water ? I suspect it's a ph issue.

I've used it once or twice. I think my issue is figuring out which product is best to feed and how often to water. This coco I have is insanely light. Water goes right through it immediately. I probably need to pay more attention to the ph too.

These are the products I have available to me

Alaska 5-1-1

So the bottom is just regular coco and not the loose stuff?

I pH to 6.0 with coco.

Those are all high nitrogen. You better be careful with those. If that's all you have then I'd go with the Organic Plant Magic. I've never done organic with coco but that one has micronutrients, calcium, sulfur, and magnesium. I would use that all by itself at half strength to start.

I've always done synthetic nutrients with coco but i'd be interested to see how you do with organic nutrients. I'm not a fan of that real rough coco fiber on top. I would have filled the pot with the standard coco coir.

Anyway, use the Organic Plant Magic alone and don't add any of those other products. That's my advice if that's what you have to work with.

Yeah the bottom is regular coco then the rest is mix of both.

Alright man thank you. I think the plant was at it's best when I was feeding the organic magic stuff. Do you feed/water just one time a day and that's all ?

Those size plant you can probably feed just once a day but you do not want to let the coco dry out so if you need to water more then water more. Always feed with nutrients. Stay at half strength and bump it up as the plants get bigger if they need it.
