help with heat

I bought a grow box from homegrown hydroponics and it was a complete waste of mula. The cost 1300 plus shipping and all the materials must have been 500 tops that they used to make it. Now i have the box its bought 2'by3'by3' with a 400 watt hps and the heat is at 110 f plus. It has two 4.5 inch axial fans one exhaust one intake. I flipped one fan so theres two exhaust but it barely helped the heat.Is there anyway i can help the heat or should i get a bigger box beause the area is so small?

What box did u get? I was thinking bout getting one from there.

2x2x3 is your problem. Sorry to hear you got ripped off so bad. Post a picture of the box and maybe we can figure out a way to modify it to help the heat exchange problem.

You're still going to have a problem with height though. You're not going to have enough vertical to grow anything decent that doesn't get burnt from being too close to your hps

they dont do returns that place is a ripoff unless u spend like 5000 i should had just made one myself which i plan on doing. ill just use the materials from the one i bought. Im gonna look for a tall wooden cabinet and see if the heat will be alright or make a DIY cooltube i dont know yet. i just got seeds form marijuana-seeds.nl some medi bud feminized im anxious too start all i need is a good cabinet.

build one dont buy a cabinet!!! just go to have the wood cut out at the dimensions u wish (think it over) and DIY!!! and just buy a cool tube there like 50e

Have you got the ballast outside the box?
Can you put a glass or acrylic sheet between the bulb and the growspace?
If you are using both fans as exhaust then you will need vents about twice the size of each fan to supply them with enough air to do the job.
Check the temps at the top and the bottom of the cab and use an additional internal fan to move the air about if there is a difference between the two readings.

If the temps are still at 110F after that then you may as well put a chicken in there. It should be done in about 3 hours :)

yo dude I am sorry to hear that you lost that money. there's no way to say this without it being weird but uh. I bought 2 of those bake-a-round cool tubes from ebay last summer. I've never used them and would like you to have one. I too spent a lot of wasted money on things I didn't need and wasn't able to return it, so I feel your pain..or your wallet's pain! haha! You can choose whatever address you wish for it to be shipped to I don't care. As long as it doesn't cost me more than $10 to ship it to you bro! FOR REAL FREEBIE. And the money you save on me sending you that, SPEND IT ON A GOOD FAN. Don't cheap out man, you're gonna get what you pay for! As for most of us, we don't want to spend but we want quality, and that's hard to find!

bluntdocter- I know how you feel. My bank was broke on my first go around too. Luckily I was able to fit it together to at least grow some! I just checked shipping online, so it should be reasonable. email addy is [email protected]
I'm glad to have helped you out man. That tube isn't doin much for me but sitting in a cabinet filling space.

i got a new cab dats almost six feet im bout to gut the old lil peice of shyt cab and use da peices ill put up pics when im done

i got heat probs too, dont know what to do my grow cab is 3'W x 1.5D x 5'H im running 8 x 26W 6500K CFL have a fan and my windows wide open its 32F outside where i live and my therm rarely dips below 85-90F unless i completly open the grow tent, i think my mylar is keeping too much heat in, they use that stuff as emergency blankets so i know its a good insulator but damn!!!!:wall::wall:

what kind of ventillation do u have for da cab?
