help with installing a light

hey i have been looking everywhere around for a y adaptor but havnt been able to find one anywhere in australia. one staff from a shop told me there illegal haha.
anyway i ended up buying a similar thing called a Twin PAR 38 fllodlight.
the guy at the shop told me that a cfl screw in globe would fit in so i got it. if this is wrong let us know? it says on that it is ment for a PAR 38 globe.
i have no idea how to install this into something that i can connect to a power point. i think i may have bought something that isnt going to work.
i left some pictures so maybe somebody could help us out

yeah couldnt find them is that what they are called.. splitters?
where do u find them?
what would be needed if i installed it with what i got?

i got them at home depot
they were in the section with "lamp holders"

you would need some wire nuts and a cut electrical cord

is it posible to use the thing i got? i would have to connect the wires to something that connects to a wall socket.. not sure what though

try just getting an old chord from something and wiring it to that... use a surge protector so you dont fry anything during testing. I just wired up 2 huge electrical fans using a laptop power supply

alright i just got an old electrical wire and its got a blue, (yellow & green), and red wires.
do i just connect the blue to the blue wire and red to the red wire?

fark it im gona take this piece of shit back n try find something better
