Help with mogul base question

I am having a hard time finding out any good info on the mogul base. I want to buy a couple large CFL bulbs that are 150w-500w but they use a mogul base. Do I need a ballast of some kind to use them or do the mogul sockets get wired up like a normal light socket?

As far as i remember you just wire it up normally
no you dont need a ballast for any CFL's as far as im aware. i havent ever heard of a CFL needing a ballast anyway.

you mean the ones that are a foot long and look sort of like a percolator attachment for a bong right?

alternatively you could ask the people selling the bulbs

Thanks for the replies guys. Why would I go through the trouble of trying to call an internet light seller and ask this question when I have this site? They prolly wouldn't know what I was talking about anyway.
