Help! with my closed-room-setup issues..

- I am growing in a recirculating ebb&gro 12-bucket fill/drain system.
- I have a closed-room setup (NO intake/exhaust... only CO2 and A/C)
- My reservoir is very well-aerated!

My plants have been having problems lately, and i think i have root rot.

Is there anything wrong with not having any air-exchange in my room?
Since i dont have intake or exhaust, there is never any fresh air in the room.
But since i have CO2 for the plant, and a well-aerated res for the roots, isnt that ok?

I just want to make sure that couldnt be causing a problem..

What makes you say i need fresh air?

First off, i noticed you are new to the forum.
Second off, i noticed you did not give any reasoning behind your answer.

If i have a CO2 tank and monitor, and a well-aerated water reservoir, why would i need fresh air?
Keep in mind i have plenty of air circulation inside the room. Just not any "fresh" air..
But if i have CO2, and an aerated res, do i actually NEED fresh air? or intake or exhaust?

if you really do have a "sealed" room and there is no intake outake...what are you bubbling into your water? seems like with a CO2 tank that they levels could be rather high, and rather than oxygenating the roots, you are dosing them with CO2. if you think you have root rot what are you res temps?

horrible, terrible, and unknown advice

plants need:
light
food
water
co2
they do NOT need FRESH air, they freaking make it.
if growing indoors the true way is to have a sealed room and use an ac, dehumidifier, and a co2 gen or bottles. if your co2 is controlled there should be no reason for that being a problem, because it will only reach the certain level and only when lights are on. this is miniscule when talking about saturating a res. i have run a very, very sealed room for years using aeroponics and dwc and have been very successful at it. if you need sealed room help on anything, i build all of my electrical and hydro systems, just ask.

my bad man i just couldnt find another reason for your problem should have thought more..I've heard of a few people that grow in sealed rooms, and use CO2. Plants convert CO2 to oxygen, so as long as you have a/c to control temps and a dehumidifier to control humidity your good to go.

if your using co2 I believe its best to place the reservoir aeration pump outside of the grow room. you want to pump fresh air into the water not all the co2.

that totally negates the sealed room idea. you want no exchange of atmosphere. total control. besides, the amount of co2 in the room is so tiny on the whole scale that it is,has been, and will be no problem.

LET ME CLARIFY..
-My reservoir is OUTSIDE my room.
-My airpump that aerates my res is also OUTSIDE my room.

ALSO
-My reservoir is around 67 degrees, and VERY well-aerated.
-My room is around 77 degrees, 50% humidity.

Superstoner1 - I think we are on the same page.. It makes no sense why my closed-room setup would need any kind of intake/exhaust, or exchange of fresh air.. Because if the roots are aerated, and the plants are getting CO2, then there should be no problem. But somehow ive gotten root-rot and usually thats from lack of oxygen to the roots. So im clueless.

Im thinking about putting an exhaust fan + passive intake via damper, and have it come on ONLY at night. I dont know what good it will do, but maybe it will help. who knows.. But i still dont understand how or why i got root rot with the setup i have.
