Help With My Sick Babies

Hi, im having some trouble with my new set up and im not sure what's wrong. My plants are a 14 days old in these pics and both strains I am growing are having the same 'wilting' problem. They're not really wilting as much as they are just bending downwards and looking weird. They started this at around 1 week. Now into week 2 some of the plants are also yellowing, especially the bottom leaves.

A little about my setup

My seedling mix is peat moss, coc coir, EWC and perlite. I added a little bit of seaweed kelp as well.

I have a 330 watt Quantum board on them. I hung it real high at first and they stretched a little right when they popped so i lowered it to about 30 inches above the plants.

Im running CO2 in a sealed room at 1100 ppm.

temps get as high as 80F during the day and as low as 66F at night when lights are off. Humidity stays around 50%.


So today is Day 15. As of yesterday, I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots just to switch the soil up and see if they respond. It's a pretty hot mix so i figured they're either going to respond well or get burnt to a crisp.

I was very surprised to see they all had well established root systems for 2 weeks in the 4 inch pots which leads me to believe the soil isn't the problem.

I initially turned my CO2 down to 800ppm but got no results so as of yesterday I turned it completely off. I also added an intake and outtake to exchange the air in the room 4 times a day. I read some people having problems with CO2 running need air exchange. Kind of debated but i figured it can't hurt and now ill have a backup incase my mini split dies.

I am not an expert grower but I am definitely not a new grower so im pretty sure things like over/under watering isn't the problem here. This is a completely new room and setup. First time using LED's. I have never encountered a problem quite like this though so Im completely lost as to what it is. Here are some pics

Think you need to go back to the basics

Just yer medium sounds complicated and goofy

you just need to pot up into some happy frog soil i think. They are slightly root bound, srarving, and over watered would be my guess.

Shitcan the other medium for awhile till you get it dialed in

Are u an experienced grower

C02 is a tuff one

And mixing stuff in Coco is a recipe for failure

I am an experienced grower but I'll also admit this is a complete new room, set up and soil. Along with my first time using CO2 and LED's. I've grown in DWC as well as Organic soil. Organic soil is my preferred method so I decided to really step it up and follow a super soil recipe from a reputable grower on another site.

Like I said, I just transplanted yesterday into the super soil. All i can really do is see if they respond to it unless someone here knows whats wrong.


Also, they are 100% not overwatered. I've been growing long enough to not over/underwater. And they seem to have healthy root systems for such weak looking plants.

Thats the soil they were in up until yesterday. Just a new seedling mix I was trying because i feel like my old mix was a little slow growing. Although its tried and proven to produce healthy plants.

Yesterday, i transplanted them into the super soil mix out of desperation. Im waiting to see how they respond to that.

Hey just curious have you tested your water? I has an issue similar once. Plants were looking the same except they were bigger established plants. Ir was my well water. It was too high in Iron coming out super hard outta the tap and was locking out ans choking my plants. Over abundance of certain minerals can lock other nutrients out and thrash your plants. Also too much iron specifically in my case brought in anaerobic and bad bacteria. If its not your water. I would personally recommend turning the c02 off and running straight pure air flow with natural ambient c02 levels. Also check your water.

Your not gonna be able to tell weather the soil helps or not until they are transplanted and established maybe a week or so. It takes time for them to grab the new dirt and start uptaking nutrients from the substrate.

reduce light intensity
dont water until the pot is lighter
will recover

Thanks for the reply. That run is over and i had nothing but problems with those plants and the plants im growing now. Each plant showed all kinds of leaf and growth problems the whole time. I got about a half OZ per plant of little tiny nugs.

I know my city has really great tap water and I never had a problem at my old house but this is a whole new grow room and a new location. I actually just got a RO system. waiting for some parts to come in to hook it up. Should be running sometime this week.

I also had a fungus gnat problem that I JUST hopefully cleared up today. I stopped running my blumats and went back to hand watering as well. Trying to go back to the most basics of growing. If things don't get better after this then im going to cut the CO2 and run with just fresh air. Im pretty exhausted dealing with these problems. I've never had any problems in a grow that I couldn't figure out within a week or so. It just so happens when I drop the most cash i've ever dropped on anything into a grow room that i run into nothing but problems. My luck.

Totally feel your pain brother. My first run i lost 4000 dollars in clones and it was a huge hit the water literally chocked my plants out. I tested the water got a Reverse osmosis and replanted and theres not a single imperfection. Even so your ambient climate can't be that bad to cause that much of an issue. Something is preventing the plants from uptaking. I would definitely suggest starting with testing your water or getting the filter rocking. I am an expirenced grower too so in my case I knew I wasn't making mistakes which lead me to look at the water. I was puzzles for weeks it cost me over 5k ans 2 months of time

Spend your money on good soil amendments mix and let cook for 45 days.Or shit you have the room just get coco and set up a good drainage system.Im converting to living soil now,takes awhile to cook but its doing good so far.

Thanks man. I really hope that the RO system magically solves my problems. You may be 100% right.

I have a great Super Soil mix. I also bought a bag of Fox Farms Ocean Forest and spent a fortune to get some Build-A-Soil shipped to me. Same problems in all the soils. I had a fungus gnat infestation that i just took care of today but i really don't think fungus gnats could be the cause of this much problems. beneficialife really has me thinking its my water now.

You can get water test results from the city online,is it soft or hard?

Soft. I've never had problems with my city water but I am at a new location so i don't know. I already bought a RO system so we will see.
