Help with my WW ....80% Yellow.

I have a question, this means evryone can comment. I have a indoor set up with a top feed system. I have 4 plants growing right now, a WW and a White Rino,the other 2 are Big Bangs. I had flors vegging but now i just have a 400 hps , 18/6. Temps are around 78-86 without lights, 86-98 with them on. I have a 12inch fan inside at medium,plus a 8inch fan forcing fresh air in. I have about 70 cfm exaust vent.Plus a small fan for the light.
The plants are about 21 days old but the WW has been yellow the whole time, ever since it sprouted the first true leaves. The white rino is great in color and has roots in nutes now,but the new leafs are curling up at the sides.Same for one BB, the other is perfect.
Does anyone know why my WW is yellow?

WAY to hot!! Thats why they're curling up trying to hide from the hot "sun" . MJ will barely grow if at all in those temps. And yellow usually means hunger. It is lacking nutrients in proper proportion because 1) its too damn hot or 2) there aren't nutrients present in the medium, or 3) the Ph is off and the nutrients are "locked out",and the plant cant use them.

Thanks, I did not think that the heat was to high, I've read that they can live through it and be fine, I'm SOL cause its upstairs and its always warm there, well into the high 80's, and the 400 hps dont help. I keep ph between 5.5-6.5 and I under fed it for the week. I plan on changing the res on Friday and re add nutes then. Other than that I dont know what to do since its summer time and temps are high in my parts.

Yeah they can "live though it" but they won't produce squat. Their growth will be very stunted. All the resources and time and effort you put into your grow....it'll be a shame if you dont see the true potential because of a temperature problem.

Acidity is 10x greater at 5.5 then at 6.5.
Try to tighten your range a bit.
Your room is pushing towards fatal temps keep them lower to be safe.
What nutes are you giving them and how much?

I have an ac system but its to much for what I'm doing, maybe ? do thet have an actual cooling system?

Ya I thank you for it, I moved the system to the floor and lifted the light to the top.


I might have to go CFL in the summer for my grow. I just hope I can save my ladies.Sorry for not having pics.:neutral::neutral::joint::joint:

general hydo floro series...........grow 15ml per gallon 5 gal. res.......micro.....10 ml per gal. But I just remembered that I only mixed it for 1 gal this week. Stoner move just may have costed me ......

yea dude, I was gonna say... yellow top leaves from seedling sounds like low Nitrogen to me especially in a hydro setup where you seem to have all other metrics in acceptable ranges (including temps).. just a quick note though, dont immediately try to correct by going straight to a 3:2:1 ratio.. they will burn and die!! let them adjust over the next week or two by doing 1:1:1 *1/2 (halfed) then second week 1:1:1 then if all good to go, only then full veg ratio.. at least thats what I would do, cuz if they still are fine and are living then you can coax them back to full health no problem.. first week of transition I would also decrease light levels by about 1/3.. good luck!

I think your temps are just fine. My grow closet stays a hundred or better most of the time. Why you got them on 18/6 since you moved em? I would drop to 12/12 if it was me. Possible it shocked the shit out of em when you moved them from the CFLs to the HPS. That stuff needs to happen gradually. Keep the big light as far away as practical till they get used to it. Hard to know the nute status from the info provided.

C'mon man don't come in here telling people that 100 degrees is fine, thats BS. The whole advantage to growing indoors is having 100% control over the growing environment. Plants grow SLOWLY over 85 and hardly at all over 95. thats not my opinion its a fact. yeah different strains tolerate the heat better than others but your post is is just ignorant, I'm sorry to tell you, but other people trying to learn read that crap and it does not help them.

I;m going to flush out the res and re add nutes, and maintaine a 6.0 ph. I just re checked the temp its at 96F at noon. I have to go back to the CFL I have. We'll see what happens.

Switching back to CfL is the last thing I would do.
I would suggest either get a bigger fan for you light, raise your light a bit, or best yet buy a hood and exhaust outside.

Adding some C02 to the environment will help in the heat. Not cheap or easy but helpful. i run a 400 HPS in a 2x4x5 tent and have my CFL's standing by for the inevitable heat wave. Its better than cooking my precious ladies.

Why? what so bad about the CFL's. Superior spectrum less heat, cheaper to run. Too hot -vs- CFL instead of HPS CFLs win that battle in my book, and in my tent LOL Abigger fan is just going to move the hot air around. it wont make it any cooler. then you can just add windburn to the "sunburn" lol

Well the plants are growing bigger and bigger and CFL's have almost zero penetration.

It's funny to see someone who used 850 watts to grow 200 grams say that his lighting is superior.

If you read the whole post you'll see I'm referring to the fan used for cooling the light.
The OP stated he has 4 fans in his room.
Windburn is cause from a constant barrage of wind directly aimed at the plant.(His fan is pointed as his light!)
And ultimately I suggested he buy a hood and exhaust his heat.

Why do CFL growers try so hard to defend any criticism against CFL's!

Especially someone pulling less then 0.25gpw!!

realax man i just asked WHY you felt that way. This isn't Fight Club this is a LEARNING forum. I said the SPECTRUM is superior. Have you ever used CFL's? Because if you have not your arguement has no leg to stand on. If bringing up a total newbs 1st grow when he didnt have a clue what he was doing is your only arguement, then its A REALLY weak one.

Actually I was referring to your grow!
CFL grow final results. 6 plants, 850 watts, 7.2 oz.

I have used fluorescent lights and I can say for sure that "My plants do better under the big bright light!"

Just click on any of my signature grows and compare them to any CFL grow!!

I rest my case.
