thanks. i do like the migro. the issue is that, even if i take out the middle spacer, i won't have space to fit the carbon filter at the top of the tent. if i put it at the bottom i have to drop a plant or two....that would not be good. even with the ACI, i will have to move it off center about an inch or two to make space. i wish i could have used the 4inch filters, it was important. one of my tents has had virtually no stretch in 2.5 weeks, so height is not an issue at all. the other, the indica tent of course, won't stop stretching. i have about 6 inches left to the 18inch to light mark. height might not be an issue, but it is getting close...stupid og kush genes. i fim and lst and flipped at 1 foot tall. max height of plant minus light and bucket height is about 2.5 feet which is fairly shor

Using a 6 inch fan and filter for a 5sqft tent is overkill. Have you considered putting the filter outside the tent?

All air goes outside....I have to pull on the filter. I am running a 6 because the 195cfm isn't good enough. I need about 250 to 280cfm, I have a couple other constraints relating to ducting holes that create some drag on the system.

I’m confused. Is your tent outside? What does the outside temperature have to do with needing a larger inline fan?
apparently you don't live where i do. even though the thermostat may say 70, a closet on the edge of the house under the sun with two 270w lamps in them and another 150w of other devices is a lot of heat. the heat is not in one tent...i have two.

i have a 440cfm turned all the way down...it works well.
That's with 0 static pressure. As the pressure rises the CFM drops. Meaning the longer and more turns the duct has, the more pressure it takes to push the air.

This is the fan I like if you want a high static pressure rating. I exhaust from my closet outside with 25 ft of duct. Even if you don't like this fan it shows what I'm talking about. A lot of fans don't rate their stuff like Vortex does. Oh, and the green Active Air ones are pretty similar, but cheaper.

But hey if yours works fine, I don't know what we're talking about,

The closet is in the sun? Like a skylight?

Oh you didn’t say you had two AC Infinity lights in your 1.6’x3’ tent. You didn’t mention another tent either. You should have separate inline fans for each tents exhaust with separate exhaust exits from the house.

Regardless the outdoor air temperature is irrelevant in selecting a proper inline fan.

the one i have is the vivosun. i don't know what the chart of it looks like, but it is similar in cfm rating and is way overpowered. i don't really have a heat issue now that i used a 6inch. i had another 6inch from the hardware store that people use for AC stuff, but it was not nearly powerful enough. once i put a carbon filter on their i will be glad i had the extra power.

i have two tents in a closet, one light in each and an ac between them. there is a pic in the thread. ambient conditions impact the closet base temp. the central ac is not connected to the closet. not sure what you are on about...after about 10pm the closet temp drops over 10 degrees

so i heard back from ACI again. they said they checked with one of their teams who were shocked the lamps are pulling 270w. they had to contact their manufacturer. so, they have no idea why their 240w light pulls 270w.

That response by them is weak. They should wait for the actual engineers to respond instead of making customers uncomfortable.

I’d image that the LED drivers are designed for 240watt but have a set tolerance of what is acceptable and not acceptable for operation. My stoned math tells me this is only a 12.5% difference in watt output.

in the spirit of talking out of my ass I’d image that the engineers intended for the product to over shoot the goal of 240watts by an acceptable tolerance. As a consumer I’d rather have a light operation brighter than marketed as opposed to weaker than advertised.

yes. i don't know what their problem is though. they seemed to have a good rep. the product specs looked good too. i would tak the 270w no prob, but i don't want something shitty to happen because it's not designed to their spec.

it doesn't dim to 240. options are 270 or 217. i don't want to pay for 30w that aren't for the light. i would put 1000w if i could fit it in the tent. heat is not real problem.
i live in a similar climate si i know what you mean, i use a 315 cfm in a 4x4 running medium to help eliminate smell more.
That hot air ouside makes the scrubbed air reak again, maybe not to someone who has no clue what we do but any grower would.
Anyways if your running leds you can get away with a little more heat, when i had a 600hps in there ambient temps were 72 and it would hit 90+ in the tent running cool hoods that were well sealed.
id just keep everything as is if you worry is only the light drawing more power than stated, hell maybe you could run it a time or twi and ask for a new one.
How long have you ran it for?
