Help with Setup needed

Hi all.
looking for advice. long time smoke but first time grower.(other than the time I planted some seeds outside, hardly any maintenance and got about 20 grams.....of terrible weed haha)

in process of ordering a set up but wanted some experienced growers advice.

looking to grow 4-6 plants indoors u seing soil less in pots under LED lighting

so far I have almost decided on the following;

TENT
bud box pro 2x2meter

I'm looking at this as it comes highly rated but it is expensive! any one have any recommendations on a tent of similar quality but a better price?

LIGHTING
2 x 600 watt viparspectra full cycle lights

again these come highly rated but this time the price is very decent.
any experience with these?
any alternative recommendations?

TEMP CONTROL
this I haven't looked allot into do would love some recomndations

NUTRIENTS
again I haven't looked much into this and am getting good confused.

STRAINS
any strains that suit my setup?

any advice welcome. I am based in UK.

How is your "do it yourself " skill set? I made my own grow rooms and saved bank my man. I personally do not care for tents as I personally feel that they are junk but o.k if thats all you can do not trying to offend anyone.

no offence taken here dude that's what I'm here for.

my DIY skills are pretty decent and i have a carpenter for a best mate haha.

only concern with that is are homemade as good?
light proof. flame retardant etc are things that would worry me a bit with that.

I just don't want it to be a bit shit haha

Lol, no man I get it. A wood box is not fire proof but you could easily make it very fire resistant. I HAD a tent and found that it was too drafty , hard to heat/ cool and keep the humidity perfect. It had more light leaks than my ass has hair. I only grow in plywood boxes only. If ever your interested I could put up some pics of my grow area. As good? Better than you can buy. Customize as you go man.

Man that would be awesome. stick all the pictures up I'm curious to see the set up and the results you harvested.

what lighting did you use?

TENT. A 1.5mx1.5m would be big enough for 4-6 plants. Doesn't hurt to have more room though. Black Orchid do nice tents.

LIGHTING. Vipar are not great, better than some like mars but all cheap LEDs are not great. You need to look at the actual wattage. 2 of those will barely light up a 4x4ft space. You need to ask yourself why you want to go LED. In the UK you can get better value out of HPS for that money.

TEMP CONTROL. More importantly smell control. You want a ruck or RKV or better extraction fan and a rhino filter. Don't skimp on the filter. You want to ideally extract that air into a chimney if possible or through a window, but hot air from a window stands out for police if you live in an area where they care enough to use choppers.

NUTRIENTS. Pick a simple two part nutrient. possibly a 2part for veg and a 2 part for flower. Dutch pro or canna do a reasonable price. Depends on what medium you use.

STRAINS. Up to you, go for something easy to grow.

When you look for reviews on any product be careful. Anything on amazon is made up BS. YouTubers are in most part paid or gifted products to rave on about them. Some are legit. The LED forum on here is a good place for opinion on LED but the answer wont be positive nor cheap. If you can afford £400-500 then you can build or buy COBS or Quantum Boards. If you cant and your looking for vipar spectra price tags then go with HPS. A 600w will cover a 4x4. a 1000w cover a 5x5..

If you're going to cheap out and get blurple LED panels, I recommend buying HPS instead.

The two Viaspectrums would barely do a 1.5 x 1.5 meter tent.

If you can't afford proper cobs, either go with a much smaller tent and smaller grow plan or buy MH/HPS.

2x400w would be good, 2 600's would be better if you can cool them. Deffo go HPS, CMH is better but more expensive. I got maxibright kit off eBay. 200 quid each roughly

If you go HPS I heard the ballast don't matter as much as a good bulb? Not sure how right that is.

I also like RVK fans, but I got a rhino thermostatic fan cheaper. Go for one maybe two of those? I have a 5" one in a 1mx1m and Id probably do better to have a 6".

Its a pretty helpful place when we aren't arguing about HPS vs LED. Which unfortunately we are too often.

The UK market as far as HPS is concerned is much the same. Pretty much all made in china, nothing wrong with that.
I have a shit load of them in draws retired, none of them ever let me down though. Hortilux bulbs are worth the money.
You can go for fancy digital dimmable ballast or you can go with old magnetic ballasts that are cheap as chips these days.
Maxbrite are affordable, lumii, Omega, all much the same. We don't have some of the more expensive types the Americans use.

Decide your space, how much of it you want to light up and go from there. You can grow 4-6 plants in a 4x4 but you could grow them longer and fill a 2mx2m so its up to you and how much you want to grow vs how much you want to spend on electricity.

There's a video on YouTube of a guy called growpotcheaply and he does a really long and drawn out video that's quite helpful talking about how to make a grow space perpetual, with the sorta space you have that might be handy. I think that's geared towards autos tho, difference would be with photos is a dividing wall inside your tent for the two different light cycles.

Ah you are in the UK too! yeah I think I over estimated the size i would need for 4-6 plants so have been looking at smaller tents now. I'll be looking at 4x4, maybe a little bigger.
I just really want to get this right and it seems I really was clueless although I'm starting to get a bit more of an understanding now.
I'll check out the bulbs and fans too!

Im smoking some shiatsu kush at the moment. Here's a harvest out of a 4x4x6 plywood box. I was napping, sorry about tbe delay... 400 watt h.p.s only no side lighting. Organic in soil.

Got some A.c in this room to keep temps down. Intake/exhaust speed control on the side. The intake fan is mounted in line on the side of the box its a 6" , I also have a wall mount fan and heater inside.. Ive mounted the power strips outside as well as a timer for easy access. The ballast is also outside. Inside up top is where the air is being sucked "out" from.

Looks real nice, I'm salavatin' like pavlov's dog.. Just goin by the lovely green leaves- you're not into flushing (or maybe the pics are pre-flush?) is this a choice of awareness, or is it because of Organic grow you mentioned? I'm very interested in this, as, for years I avoided Hydro product as it gave me massive headaches that bush did not. Once I started growing for myself I was flushing with clean water for last 2 weeks b4 chop- no headaches, no chem taste, beeaautiful flavors instead.. Where this sucks is that even with 2x 600w hps (in 4x8' tent with DWC), the lower half could have used a couple of weeks extra once the tops were gone to maximise outcome but this would achieve FA without going back to nutes & then reflushing... Someone else I know was having same issues with 4x 315w lec's (in his 4x8' tent flood & drain setup), he has gone to some very expensive Organic nutes so that he dosn't need to flush.. Waitng to see & taste the results. Do you flush? what nutes you usin? cheers.

I use organic fulvic acid powder, mychoriza powder by roots I also use their Buddha bloom and buddha grow. Neptunes harvest seaweed nutrient, botanicare cal mag and silica blast , and super thrive . Not always or all together but throughout the cycle. I use organic when I can but I will take a natural "non registered organic [natural] products also. No I do not flush , never have as in my own opinion there isnt a need. Thanks man.
