Help with stretching Durban poison in limited height grow room.

How can I keep my Durban poison from stretching I have put a 4x4 scrog net and staked 3.I did a 6 week veg with only 5.5’ max light height.I topped and dimmed some twice.I flipped to 12/12 5 days ago and am still using a 4200k mh that I heard inhibits stretching.Should I go to hps yet?I tuna 600 watt hps/mh and marshydro ts 2000 and the smaller marshydro along with a 6 bulb 54 watt T5HO which I’m also wondering when to go to 3000k bulbs,I have one in coco, rest in ff soil using ff dirty dozen + vermiculite in 5 gallon grow bags and 2-440 cfm with carbon filter.I have used bloom boost yesterday.Anymore advice on keeping my girls off the lights?

Thats a lot of lights for a 4x4! Id keep it under 50 watts per square foot. I'd stick with the metal halide if you're worried about stretch.

Make it cooler when the lights come on in the morning... generally make it cooler too for the transition weeks, but especially in the 1st 3 hours of the day

He doesn't say what the smaller Mars light is. But the Ts2000 is a 300 watt light. He also doesn't say how long the t5 bulbs are. But it sounds like he easily has over 1000 watts in that tent. Most people run 480-600 in a 4x4.

Of course you train better in the future, that doesn't mean you need twice as much light as necessary.

I’d never cut any light unless it was a fire hazard or heat issue. I’ve trained Sativa ladies into circles and mainlined. It can be done.
More light is a good thing imho.

So why don't you just put more and more lights into your tent?

Cause you dont need to. 30-50 watts per square foot. Over that and you're stressing the plants unless you provide CO2.

I’ve got 1000 w hps in a 4x4 closet. I just bought another 1000 w hps dim able ballast. The extra window ac unit in the room just died and even in Florida they’re not really on the shelves.
Soooooo when I get a new window unit I will add another bulb, 1000 w.
You’ll be able to see my plants from Mars buddy :eyesmoke:

2000 watts in a 4x4? Now were really goin for it. bongsmilie

I grow with 480 watts in mine as does most the people i know. click the link in my sig if u wanna see the buds. I think you could save some money on electricity man!

I grow vertical and there are plants of all sizes everywhere and trained in every way you can think of :eyesmoke:

Check out negative temperature differential. Warmer temps during the dark cycle than the light cycle. It helps.

They are in a 12x6’ room using about 7x6’ also the T5’s are 4’ and the smaller led is 150 watt draw.I use 2-65 watt 2700k cfl’s also.I think it’s a little over 1500 watts.I topped,bent,pita scrog net on top and my 600 is 12” from canopy 2nd week flowering after 5 week veg,how much closer would a cool tube allow me to be?

I keep my lights within 4 feet and I’m using 2 Mars hydro 300 watt and 1 bright white 600 watt off to the side. Also I had that problem and added some blue lights to help with plant mass and to counteract the red light that makes them stretch. Worked for me!
