Help with transplanting pots

Alright people I have 6 seedlings in red solo cups at the moment, I have never done this many. So with that being said i do not have enough pots for all of them. I have always used 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottom for the final pot. I always transitioned out of the red solo cups as seedlings into a 1.5 gallon pot for a little bit then would upgrade to the 5 gallon buckets. I have enough 5 gallon buckets for all 6 plants so thats good, but do i need to put them into the 1.5 gallon pots before moving to the 5? Can i just put them straight from the red solo cups as seedlings right into the 5 gallon buckets? or will that cause some issues? I just didnt want to have to go buy more pots if i really dont need to but if needed i will its only like 20$ just trying to save money if i dont need to spend it.

You could transfer them directly, but it's VERY easy to overwater small plants in huge pots. If you saturate those pots they'll stay wet forever with a tiny plant in them-this is the main reason people step up pot sizes. Be very careful about watering if you do this.

THANK YOU!!! that makes complete sense, ive been debating on using the cloth 5 gallon or 7 gallon bags do you think that could overcome the over watering?

I always transfer directly from the solo cup to its final home never had any problems. The less transplanting the better.
