help with yellowing

This is still my first grow and I've been having some problems with this so far. I'm useing a 75watt hps and two tube flows 26watts. I have a plant in a 5 gal bucket with organic potting mix. My plant still in veg is about 9in tall and has been topped. The question I have is what could be the problem I have been useing 24-8-16 nute I think its bcuz it wasn't getting enough n or k but its been about two weeks scents I started useing nutes. I think it hasn't spred anymore(new grouth) but the leaves that had the brown spotting and yellowing before are dry and crisp now but more of a yellow. Also some of the tips are drying out on the new leaves. So is it bcuz those leaves were sick and just needed to be cut off or will they just die and the rest of the plant clear up and keep its green? And is there still a problem?

And how would I flush it? Just run a lot of good water through my soil.
Yes and make sure to ph it to 5.8-6.2 you either have nute lock out or she has to much food. So I would flush her out good wit the PH'd water and start over with your feeding give it 1\4 of the recommended food and bump it up ery 4-5 days or so. Your plant will tell you if its gettin enough food.

I'd flush with just plain tap water in this case, just in case the problem is acidity. Can't hurt, and I'm assuming you have no other way to check. Better safe then sorry. But I agree, its most likely over feeding. Or over watering. Whether your feeding nutes or not, should shouldn't be feeding more than once every 2 days in soil. And even then, you don't want to be drenching them unless you got real good drainage. The soild should be dry ontop before the next watering.

So should I get like 2 gals of distilled water an just flust it like that. And I take it I shouldn't put any nutes in the distilled but do u think I should put lemmon juice in it to bring down the ph

I have the water test strips and soil testerd for ph,n,k,p . I water about every 2 to 3 days ah the soil drains rather good but I use a half of a water bottle of my water mix at a time. Also with tap it have a high ph like 8 and is high in clorine my distilled is around 6 7 untreated with lemmon it like 5 or 6.

Even though my tap is bad and would need to sit out for 24 hours? I might agree with flushing but not putting it in the shower

The general rule for flushing, is about 3x the volume of the pot.
Any pics for us?
If not, what stage are you at? How big are your pots, plants, lights.. etc etc.. gimme a full discription, and/or some pics, and i'll give you some pointers.
And yea, distiled water or R/O water would be best, or just tap water that has been left to sit for 2-3 days and then oxygenated before use (ie. air pump, or just a good shake). But don't worry if you haven't got anything like this, and it would be much better to flush them now with plain tap water, than to leave the problem to get worse for 2-3 days.
