Help

Good morning

can you help, i am a first timer and my seedlings did well in compost pellets.i have just transplanted to rockwool cubes.the seedling are about three inches high with first set of leaves.as they grow the leaves are curling downwards and a couple have started to fall over?
the temp is about 80% the CF is 11 and PH of 5.5 ,growth seems to be slowing too.
The pellets are square and the rockwool holes are round obviously leaving gaps is that a problem?, i know roots need air

what surprised me was that you transplanted your seedlings so young. i could be wrong (please sum1 correct me if i am), but i think its bad to move them to a new home so young. if a cultivator is not careful the plant can experience a bit of shock from being transplanted, which can stunt growth.

curling leaves you say? how exactly are they curling? are the leaves themselves curling under, as if the plant is trying to physically protect the underside of the leaves? or do the leaves/fans of leaves droop down towards the soil like a weight had been tied to the end of the leaf?
some of the leaves on my plants were curling under. after surfing the web i found out that this might be due to nutrient deficiencies or excess, probably nitrogen. this and other factors may cause the leaves to curl. when was the last time you fed your plants?

it seems that over watering is the most common of all mistakes that new cultivators make, or so i have read. this is what most likely is causing droopy (not curling) leaves. the best thing is to let the soil dry out a day perhaps 2 if its not too hot, then thoroughly water only once. wait till the soil is completely dry before watering again. i just stick my finger in the soil a couple of inches to check.

when you say that the temp is 80% do you mean 80 degrees fahrenheit? i dunno what CF is so more power to ya, but your ph level seems low. unless you are doing hydroponics, is this the case?

Thanks for the advice, yes i think you are right that i have tranplanted too young ,the plants are coming round now but it was a hell of a shock for them,This combined with overwatering are classic nub mistakes i'v made.
The ph is for hydro so you are on the ball.Once again thanks as any response helps with piece of mind if nothing else
