Help!

Hey peoples,
This morning my lights clicked on after a 24hr. dark period and my plants look sad. To be honest, they looked sad on friday after I transplanted them into bigger pots. I'm going to post new pictures today so you can see what I mean. The newest little leaves and coming in thin with a yellowish tinge. My grapefruit especially look sickly. They look more twiggy and the bigger leaves are drooping and some of them are curling? What can this be? Details about my grow are in my journal and I haven't changed anything. Transplant shock? Ph? Heat is not an issue. Please help.

Also, I'm in day two of flowering, when do I stop using CO2?
And should the fans be on during dark periods?

Looking sad shortly after transplanting is normal. Its transplant shock. Shocking them even more by immediately putting them into 24 hour dark was probably a lot for them to handle.

Did you give them a big drink of water when you transplanted them? If not do that then make sure they get plenty of light.

Good luck.

The 24 hour dark period is supposed to jump-start flowering. I really don't think that's the cause of the sadness though.

ive heard a couple people say different things like 36, 48, and even 72 hours in the dark to "jumpstart" flowering

The guy that sent me the jf seeds told me to turn the lights off 30 hours before I flower and after. Supposed to trigger the plant and help it finish up at the end.

Im assuming it shortens it some. I guess helping it trigger its flowers will save a few days. And at the end its supposed to just make all the flowers ripen.

I dont think I will be able to do this since my flowers are in different stages. I dont know maybe I will try it out. Still deciding. lol.

I will deffenitly try it on my new seeds. To trigger them atleast.

I don't believe that 24 hours of darkness will jump start flowering. or even 48. What it will do is slow growth, and upset the lady's cycle, and make her grumpy for the next few days. Guys, you know what I mean!

In hydro, I jump start flowering with a change in nutes. That makes the plant switch faster, and show flowers sooner, but it still takes the same number of days for the plant to fully develop and ripen flowers. That's genetic, and you tricky guys are not going to change it.

NOW, at the end of flowering, a dark period does seem to make the buds ripen up some. Just on visual inspection the trikes look more opaque, when they were still clear going in. This is useful for those sativas that just don't seem to want to ripen indoors.

HTH

Well, I'll amend my own post. I found in jorge's book where he says growers have reported earlier flowering from giving a dark period first. He doesn't say if it speeds up total flowering time tho. They have found 36 hours of darkness to be best.

What I have found is earlier flowering means that the plant doesn't stretch as much, so you end up with a shorter, stockier plant, that holds up the weight of the buds better.
