Some help is needed for 4 plants.
They about over a week old, they were planted to late after the sprouts had already reached about over an inch, into clay type soil for about 2 days and then transplanted into better soil.
They look healthy, but thin stems now and they they are growing they 2nd set of spikes.
What to do to thicken the stems and to maximize on veg growth. I want them to flower when they are pretty short. Right now there under a 30 watt cfl twist bulb in a cardboard box with tinfoil on the sides. The bulb is in between the 4 pots and is about 3 inches away from them.

you need a small fan blowing on them to flex the stem in the wind, you want a 6500 K cfl (Daylight) to get that short stocky growth, Make a reflector for your bulb if don't have one.

you need WAYYYYYYY more light than 30watts of cfls for 4 plants even just one plant takes more as far as getting the stems thick....umm just transplant them into new pot thats bigger and bury them all the way up to the first set of leaves...and cardboard box with tinfoil? tinfoil is a nono it creates hotspots on your plant and can burn it....I recomend scrolling the threads on here and looking up a cheap DIY grow cab and FOLLOW the instructions if you wanna grow good shit your gonna have to spend some extra cash for the better......you will replace all of your money you have invested after your first harvest if you take the time and do it right instead of just jumpin right into it! hope I could help a little <boogs>

absolutely. Be gentle, make sure soil is broken up well, and lighty tamp into place around stem, maybe using a pencil eraser end? just lightly tap it down so it supports stem for now.

There is alot more space in the pot, can I just add more dirt carefully?
