is that in coco ?

Distilled water can cause an issue if you don`t preload the coco then it has zero nutes most seeds can go for 1 to 2 weeks and then need feeding

distilled water causes more problems than tap water as tap water has some minerals and nutes in it

Distilled water I would add plant start when setting up the coco or feed a tiny bit by week 2
Seedling soil mix

When people say that people have too much light on their seedlings I just have to laugh. Get you a 10 pack, throw them in some solo cups for three or four days until their heads pop, and toss em right under 600 MH. Have also thrown them under 1000w at 3 weeks. People that grow with cfls get scared of light and I don't get it..

I am coming from 40 + years of study and grow experience. Grown over 150 different strains. Using every method mentioned on this forum before there was an acronym for it. Lst, sog, scrog, Dwc. Inside, outside both. Ok?

If that's the case than how could you honestly say that CFL light is too much for a seedling and that it would cause yellowing of bottom leaves. It's litterally a marker that you can see in .5 seconds. Light burn would affect the top! Not to mention there's no way on earth you can light burn a seedling with a CFL unless they were inches from the top, but it still wouldn't manifest with yellowing of bottom leaves

Seedling soil mix

Seedling mix won`t have much in the ways of nutes in it

normally its a heat/drying out issues a 600w hps on seedlings with work at the right distance problem with that can be the soil gets too hot or dries out really quickly

I go with a 1l to 5L pot over a solo cup or a block of rockwall with 5 to 10 seeds in it say 200mm to 500mm long bit of rockwall holds a nice amount of water

That's what I was trying to tell him. It's hungry. Yes high powered lights will dry out the top soil fast, but that's easy to deal with. I just use a gallon sprayer and keep the tops moist until they're ready for drip system or heavy can watering. I like going straight to high PAR area asap and watch them explode. I used to start with t5's but I don't like how spindly some strains can get. Don't need more work on my plate, lol

The yellowing is from over watering. The new growth tells me it is not hungry. And yes you can over light with cfls..
I speak from experience. Very expensive experience. Lol Don't want to fight just a difference of opinion...

actually cfl`s can over heat a seedling as you have to get them very close and they are normally used in closet grows

so a cfl right next to the seedling vs a hid 2m away

I`d bet on the cfl over heating the seedling before the hid

you know a more pro set up vs a little cabinet with a cfl plus to get the light with cfl you do end up with more heat and such too

Ok so lots of different opinions. But the yellowing has continued to work its way up the plant, i have been watering every 2-3 days but havent since noticing the yellowing. I took 2 of the 23w cfls out as soon as the first guy mentioned it and have not watered for 3 days now and the yellowing is now at the tips of the next set of leaves. Seems like she is hungry especially seeing all the posts about the distilled water washing out anything that was in the soil. But unfortunetly nutes didn't show up today! I guess she has to go another day without anything.

I have noticed my soil drying out fast recently, could this also be caused by too much air flow?

That's what I was waiting for.. now that the yellowing is spreading and you are not over watering we know it is hungry.. we aren't guessing.. sometimes you have to give things time to develope.. Feed away 1 /4 to 1/2 nutes strength..

I light burned my plants my t5's. They were about 10 inches away. The temp was around 85 so I thought I was good, but it was way too much light. The problem here is people just say a certain way they do it with no more details..." like 500 watt hps doesn't burn my seedlings" well from what distance and with what venting and all the stuff that matters?

Don't worry bud, your plant will be fine. If your nutes don't come soon you could always run out to home Depot or a place like that and get some earth worm castings. They are cheap, like $10. I used to make a tea per the instructions on the bag and just added it with the water. Worked good.

And if you drink your tap water just use that. It's cheaper and easier and better I say. As long as it's not nasty. But I used city water through my whole grow. I'd just check the pH after adding the nutes to the water before pouring it out and adjust it as needed.

That's a
Nitrogen deff. For sure don't count on the soil nutrients it's prolly time release you should have gotten 5-5-5 soil or 10-8-5 Npk soil yellowing from the bottom and the stems between the leaves is a sign of that... Giver her some nitrogen man it's killing its self it well work its way up ur plant slowly you can get nutrients give it 1/4 strangh and every week add a lil more to her look for 10-10-10 or mine is 24-8-15 Npk started when she was 3 weeks old 1/4 and up every week
