Hi everyone, longtime reader, first time posting. i have some experience indoors in hydro, but am now trying to master outdoor in soil as nature intended.first my set up:
- 1 chem 4 og (cali connection seeds) mother is grown indoors as a bonsai mother in deep water culture hydro under a cfl light 24 hr cycle.( i do believe plants need the 6hrs of darkness but the constant light is to induce flowering once the plants are moved outdoors where the longest days are only 16 hrs)
- homemade aeroponic cloner under a t5 flourecent 24 hr cycle
- clones moved outdoors into the shade for a week to harden in 1gal pots to build a root ball then transplanted into10 gal pots to flower planted in subcool's supersoil mix 2010 watered with plain water. once a week dosed with 1tblspoon molassas per gallon
trouble is i live in a horrible climate for cannabis. regularly day temperatures hit the high 90s sometimes in the 100s, for the past month and a half it hasnt dropped below 90 except at night. i know cannabis is a sun loving plant, but temperatures are so high i fear its stressing the plants. Im not certain but i feel like they may be growing better in the shade, i know they wont keep up with the hydro but i like to see noticable vigorous growth and i feel like they could be doing better, im not willing to add more nutrients as i feel this will burn them, my ph is fine although im not sure about the ph change from hydro to soil but they seem to react well when transplanted as long as there shaded. i water once daily even in ten gallon pot, due to the heat they dry out fast.
so i guess my question is this, in my climate would a plant prefer sun or shade? or maybe a combination of the two based on time of day or week of flower. if someone with experience could outline this i would be very appreciative. also any hot climate grow tips are welcomed.
thanks again, namtih024
ps: id post pics but they look fine there just growing a little slowly, and for all you expert growers out there they told me they were slightly unhappy
