Hemp seeds or bird seeds?

Has anyone ever tried to germinate Hemp seeds? The ones you can buy at Health food stores. I read they're steralized. I think that's what bcbud sent me. Out of 22 seeds a wopping 14 of the suckers were dead. I'm thinkin a guy would get that ratio with steralized hemp seeds. Thoughts? Experience?

Also, the same q applies to bird seed pot seeds.

i had thought about trying to sprout those seeds, seemed like a low risk way to get started
then i did my reading on sites like these, so that plan got dumped
might be an interesting experiment, i'd be surprised if any sprouted and grew, but you never know

I forgot to mention, 4 sprouted but didn't grow, 4 survive, I got one short bushy guy that I thought was going to be female, the other 3 are tall and skimpy sativas that I thought were males are now showing female hairs, too much.

Does anybody think that these could be hemp seeds? Frigin rips these guy's, third time, first was 3 females out of 10, second I didn't get.

i've seen some stories of bogus seed banks sending out hemp seeds
seeds aren't necessarily sterilized, i think fertile hemp seed is easy to get(except in USA)
so it could be hemp, probably take a while to be sure, by which time you're invested a lot of time on junk seeds
