DAMN! Low humidity is Bumming me out

Its been so nice lately, that I got complacent and was not really checking closely, but its pretty darn low, and I can see its affect on my Little girls (which prompted me to take that closer look). Pulled out the Humidifier, but not getting me where I want quite yet. Seems its always something.. Once you get your Temps under control, the Humidity decides its time to Tank :wall:

I feel you there Rusty, I am actually thinking about going out later today and grabbing a cheap humidifier... I can't seem to keep the bloom room humidity over 30%, most of the time below that... Temps are perfectly fine tho.

Cool Man!! My next Hempy grow with be a Scrog. My 2 liters are not going to come in as well as I hoped, cause my PH meter screwed me, but I should be able to pull a nice amount out of the 18 Girls.. They get Harvested next weekend, and the 2 set for the Scrog are ready to go in.

I will check out your Journal and see how your doing

I dont mind the Low Humidity in Flower but my Veg Girls are not digging it.. I cant seem to get it above 41% right now, and the wee ones are definitely showing the signs,, False Nute burn on the Tips, Thin Leaves and Slow Growth.. I may need to double up on my Dehumidifier.

The Afghan looks very happy. She seems to be responding to the good pH! :)
Yep, she is doing very well.. Her leaves are WIDE like a pure indica and looking happy now that I am not dumping Milliliters of PH UP in the water every day. I am down to only Drops of PH Up to get me where I need to be. Make me wonder how anything is still alive and look as good as they do.

2 Liters get harvested today, so I will throw up some pics later :bigjoint:

Its time to Harvest and move onto my next Hempy Adventure!!!!!!!

Here is the gist of what we got per plant, with some being a little bigger, and some being a little smaller and less filled in.

Here is what I am putting in the dry Rack. The 3 off to the left are the 3 Northern Lights x Big Buds,, The rest are the Fruity Chronic Juice.
20121117_114203.jpg20121117_114205.jpg
I did not weigh it, cause its always Damn Depressing to find out how much is lost to the Dry.

Here is the Afghan Kush that sprouted on 10/23,, She is growing a bit slowly in my opinion, but I believe it to be more environmental,, The Humidity has been really low lately, and I am rockin 2 small Humidifiers in order to get it up to a somewhat acceptable level. The other mothers are feeling the pinch as well.

I also went ahead and switched out the bulb in the flower room, and transplanted 2 girls I had in Hempy Cups, into their 3 Gallon Hempy Buckets,, and into the Room to begin their Veg Period. They will be for my next Hempy Adventure,, the SCROG!!!!!! My screen is built, so its time to try something new.. I think its great that I can still Grow Hempy, but in so many different styles  Unfortunately this SCROG will have to be for another Journal,, So I better get on it!!!!

Thanks to all that followed along, and I will post final numbers in about a week when everything is good and dry. :leaf::leaf::leaf::peace:

Rusty - those two plants look really good, nice short internod length let those fill in really well.

What bulb did you switch to with your 400W?

Good luck with SCROG - I did two SCROG grows about a year ago and didnt care for it very much. My only advice is to be aggressive with pruning everything below the screen or you will be pruning popcorn for days.

I switched out the Bulb to my 400w MH that I use for Vegging.. Then switch back to the HPS when it comes time to flower.

Yea, I hear you really want to manicure under the canopy which is fine with me,, I HATE POPCORN buds.. Which is one thing I loved about this latest harvest,, NO Popcorn, just Cola :blsmoke:.. Thanks for the advice, I am looking for all I can get!!!!!!!

Scrogin' will keep you busyPhoto 029.jpgPhoto 031.jpgPhoto 005.jpgPhoto 003.jpgPhoto 026.jpg Image 020rui.jpg But I'm sure you'll handle it well

Nice finish on the 2L run. Last question, did you see any major differences between straight perlite and the P&V mix?

The last 2 photos were not supposed to be there and I can't figure out how to remove them. Not a scrog but more hempy porn.

Nice SCROG Watts!!! I see you are like to Tie rather than Tuck, is there a difference, or just works better for you?

Also, Thanks for the reminder, it hit me a couple of days ago, that I needed to post my findings with the 2 mixes and watering frequencies... I saw absolutely NO Difference in the Grows other that the deficiencies showed up faster, or were more prevalent in the Perlite, Vermiculite mix.. Other than that, they seemed to run exactly the same. I also noticed SLIGHTLY Better room structure in the 100% Perlite..

So nothing Real Significant I guess. But I have decided to stay with just Perlite from here on out, and maybe I will venture into the Mohito (spelling?) at some point!!!

Thanks for Watching!

I went for the tie down method because it is a lot easier to rearrange and move branches if necessary. Plus I'm a klutz and tended to snap the branches while trying to tuck.

Thats the same conclusion I came to with the verm, I couldn't see any real advantage or disadvantage to using it. And it's easier to recycle the perlite without the verm.

I am going to do a hempy grow. I bought square 4 gall pots (no holes) to run them in. I have too many clones right now, and might look through my recycle bin for 2 liter bottles and do a sog like yours. I have never done hempy or sog, so this is a gamble for me. But I figure you never learn without jumping right in. I was wondering what kinda dry weight you get from 2ltr hempys? I know strains will vary, but just an idea if you can. Great grow dude!!

Your gonna dig the Hempy style,, Very easy, just be sure you are feeding them the Correct PPM's with the correct PH, and you will do just fine, whether you feed daily or not.

My last SOG was only 13 plants and I pulled almost 4oz Dried,, Not sure what this one is going to do, they are still drying, and my PH Pen had given me issues, so we will see!! Good luck with your Hempy's!!!!!!

I have heard ppl ramping up the ppm slowly, and others doing it really fast. What is your take on the ppms? My ph pens both took a dump! I am using the green drops right now, but with soil I have it dialed pretty well and dont really need that. I am shooting for 5.5 to 6.0 tops right for the ph in hempy? I have never done any type of hydro ever lol.

I have found that they can be ramped up pretty fast.. I am such a pussy when it comes to this, so I tend to go up slower than I should, and end up having to pick my nuts up off the floor and feed them a little more aggressively than I do, cause their roots tend to grow pretty quickly.

I start them out at about 150 - 200 ppm and it only take a week to 10 days before your at 350 - 400 (keep in mind I am using .5 conv, so at .7 the ppms are even higher).. Since I water daily at first in order to get the roots into the res, one day my ppms will be 150, then the next 170, then 200 and so on (if I choose). This is also another reason hempy is nice, you can just play around with your PPMs without having to continually dump and refill a big reservoir, and since you CAN water daily, you can play around daily if you want.

5.8 - 6.2 is your PH Sweet spot in Hempy's.. My suggestion is to get a decent PH and PPM Meter.. When I started Hydro, I went out and purchased a Pricey HANNA tri meter, and I just hated it.. Takes forever to get to where it needs to go, constantly needed calibration and would seem to fluctuate alot. I recently purchased an Oakton Eco Testr PH 2 meter (somewhat inexpensive), and as far as I can tell, its giving me an accurate reading, its giving it to me QUICKLY, and most importantly, NOT Giving me any SHIT. So I went ahead and Purchased its brother TDS Meter, which pretty much does all it needs to, and does it quickly,, No fuss, no muss. Check em out if your in the market,, and USE the PH Storage Solution to store the meter, not the Calibration Solution. This is a tip that I recently learned, and I cant say anything bad about it. :peace:

I stored mine wrong and ruined the probe.Milwaukee one. the Hannah one died on me and so did 2 replacements. I finally gave up on them and just threw that pos away. I might just buy the replacement probe for the Milwaukee and store it properly. Thanx for the response.
