^--- Yup.. I'm thinking that my best option is to recirculate it back into eBay from whence it came and just get an AC fan instead. For some reason I initially thought that a DC fan would be easier to wire! Pfffffffft...

FWIW, I have two 120mm Comair Rotron AC 110cfm all-metal axial fans and they are built like tanks and flow like the Nile. Maybe I'll just get more of the same!

I have a 400w metal Hallide pluged into a power strip.I want to also use a 400 w HPS at the same time.I am worried that this might be too much power going into one wall outlet via power strip. Is it?How much wattage can one common household plug handle? Will two 400 watt lights be safe?

Whats up, first off thanks for offering out your professional advice. Here is my situation, I recently ordered an inline bilge blower fan http://www.boatingsolutions.com/Seachoice-In-Line-Bilge-Blower-4-White-P9720C1191.aspx to vent my grow, I was under the impression that you could use any cord as long as it is equal or lower amps and voltage, so the blower is 12v dc and box says 4.5 amps but on the fan itself says 4 amps. and the cord i used is Input: 120VAC 60Hz 14w Output 9v dc 800mA. "class 2 transformer"

there is only two wires on the plug and two on the fan, I hooked them up and it was blowing the wrong way at first, so I swapped the wires and then it blew the right way. Well I slept in my grow room last night just incase something went wrong, and sure enough after the fan had been running about 4 hours or so it stopped, LUCKILY I was awake and heard it shut off. I jumped up and pulled the plug out and that sucker was hot as fire. Like too hot to hold onto. I broke open the plug and its not melted inside or anything but has a really strong chemical/electrical smell. Where did I go wrong?
Thanks again.
