I like the idea of a better, united front to move toward recreational legalization. Is there anything cooking along those lines?

I think any effort towards legalization will happen in the midterm election year. There will be some polls taken in the area and if enough support is found, a lot of out-of-state support will come in to push the issue more.

I am against "legalization"--- except for medical use

the herb should be completely legal for medical use and not big pharma or commercial aspects medical use for us as individuals and keep the power to cultivate it in our hands---complete legalization will open the doors for big corporate powers to dominate the scene and then regulate it

and it should be completely decriminalized for recreational use over 21 and small amounts-

there are nefarious forces behind the legalize efforts and I feel groups with their own agendas are pushing this and confusing the public that legalization would be in "our" best interest

it would be in the best interest of profiteers with big $$ Budweiser and the liquor corporations

decriminalization IMO would be best for 'us'

YY'all are crazy. None of this shit will pass. The ones that would have hurt us most have been dropped. Who cares if you have to transport shit in the trunk? Look at the track record on there for absurdly restrictive bills... Dropped because they were ruled unconstitutional or contrary to established medical practice.

We're winning this one. look for new legislation being introduced in jan to allow and regulate provisioning centers, AKA dispensaries and compassion clubs.

again we come to this.. have you read 5580? are you happy with it?

some of them have terrible chances and it doesn't matter..

Tomcat is right, of course. We would be better off if they knew we were numerous and vocal.

HB 4834 if passes, has an amendment that would allow ALL LEO, Contracted Security Agencies, All Count and City Employees, and even the Prison Complex in Michigan WARRANTLESS Access to the MMM A Registry. that is anyone that is on the registry LOOSES THEIR HIPPA PRIVACY PROTECTIONS OF YOUR MEDICAL INFORMATION, FROM ANY AND ALL GOVERNMENT, OR GOVERNMENT CONTRACTED AGENCIES, BUSINESSES, OR EMPLOYEES.

That is NOT GOOD on ANY Level, but specifically for Medical Cannabis Users.

HIPPA laws are federal and I would be interested to see if they protect patients using a substance that is illegal and has no recognizable medical purpose at the federal level. It sounds like a court case waiting to happen but I think it will be decided, in part, by the ruling for Americans for Safe Access v. DEA, if there is a scheduling change.

This is a for-shit amendment. Cops will all certainly look up everyone in their neighborhood. Is there anyone here who thinks that's not the FIRST thing the police will do? They've been hunting for years and now they can enter GOD mode on the video game.

If some shit like that starts, medical cannabis in michigan will implode. the top medicinal growers will flee the state, maybe that's what these few freak politicians and leo want. if i remained in-state and still wanted to only cultivate my own medicine and not some horseshit pharmaceutical-designation soylent green, then i'd be residing at least one mile beneath the streets surface. that's where you'll find me, in a solid rock tunneled out mine. already have access from my basement to miles of abandoned tunnels. bob crane and i dug 'em like there's no tomorrow.

MPP was the reason or at least a big part in us getting lucky in 2008 and as i've understood it some people in the state "screwed up" (not sure how, why etc. i could make guesses of course) and then because of that the MPP doesn't want to come back to michigan until 2016, 2014 if we are lucky...

5580 was dropped. I'm talking about a new bill that is being worked on with input from some of the biggest advocates in our state. It will be introduced in January.

Can you read? Almost all parts of that bill were dropped in the senate...

How about a bus to the 4th Annual Treating Yourself Expo in Toronto, Canada instead? It will be held May 24 - 26, 2013 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

I see know one mentioning this... If you get a script from the doc for a big pharma drug your not on a list don't have to get a card or pay a fee to the state. So IMHO get you rec from your doc end it there no card no list no fee's to the state that's what MMM users should be pushing for then no worries that the AG or any other LEO can look you up on said list... Problem solved!

I would disagree with the part of big Pharma , we should keep their greedy little asses out of it , put it in the hands of the people , patients and caregivers only , and a patient being anyone that thinks they need it for their health , no registration and no doctors recommendation , we don’t need a doctor to tell us we feel we need it . And pot shops would be a plus .
