Here we go!

Alright whats up RIU!

Got my beans in today from The Vault. This will be my first auto grow ever and my first grow in about 5yrs.

My set up:
2'x2'x4' tent (thought i ordered 5' but guess not lol)
250w hps (18/6)
2 gallon smart pots (also 1gallon on the way)
FFOF soil
Perlite


I also picked up the Flora line of nutes (FloraGro, FloraMicro, FloraBloom) and plan on running them real light threw out the grow.

The strains i got are:
Royal Queen Seeds- Quick One x1
World of Seeds- NL X Big bud x1
World of Seeds- Afghan Kush Ryder x7
Nirvana Seeds- Bubblelicious x5
Nirvana Seeds- OG Kush x1
Seedsman- Sour Diesel Haze x1

For this grow i picked the Quick One, Afghan Kush Ryder, and the NLxBig Bud. I started germing 3 just incase one doesnt go or make it to the end and i THINK i can fit 3 in my tent... So we will find out how that goes!

So if any one has any advice or tips or any questions please jump in! Its been a while since i tried growing last (small cab with 2 failed plants. 1 male that was extra sexy till dicks all over and the other just up and died) so im excited i have an actual chance of a good harvest.

I have a random bagseed goin right now to test my set up. Its actually growing better than i thought but i wont be holding on to it.

Why is that vent right on that plant?

The MH bulb i have running in it gets really hot. Its pretty much creating a dome of air around it. This set up will change here soon.

The vent is going to be replaced. Its really weak and doesnt move enough air to circulate the heat threw the tent. My exhaust fan is fine but my intake i can hardly feel running when i put my hand in front of it. Its advertised at 100cfm and i can say for pretty sure its not running any where near that lol

Global star 300 w full spectrum led
5 gal grow bags
Fox farm nutrients trio
24"x24"x56" tent
Fan filter combo
And for my soil I went down to a local farmers market

Nice strain choices i as well pick up the
N.L. & Big Bud as well as the Afghan Kush Ryder. The afghan is supposed to be a great beginner strain that is pretty resistant issues.

Sounds like a good set up! I dont know anything about LEDs but they seem to work really well. Id like to give an LED set up a go sometime.

Im pretty intrested to see your grow and how those strains do under different lighting and set ups. i chose them becuase of the ease of growth and the size. Id kill to have those extra few inches on my tent tho lol

I picked up my 24x24x56" tent for 56 bucks on ebay shipped from cali. I was gonna go with a 2x2x4 but a buddy of mine did and i realized i will need the extra 8 inches. I will be happy to keep you posted once i recieve all my shit to shart everything up. I chose the led setup because they run cool and low on energy cost

Update time!

Got rid to the random bagseed yesterday. Gave it to a friend whos started to grow so he was happy.

Moved in 3 new pots lastnight that are ready to go. Just need the rest of my seeds to sprout.

Checked on the beans and the Aghan Kush Ryder took off! Already had a good root going so i got her in the dirt today. Gonna check on the others maybe tomorow night and see if they have done anything.

Hell yeah, keep us updated that way I know what I get to look forward to with that afghan kush ryder

Most def man! I plan on it!

If you're going to go led. There's two main options. Either slap down about 600 for a good prebuilt. Or save yourself about 300 and DIY 4 or so Cree 3070s or something together. Cheap leds are kinda pointless.

Thanks for the info! What companys should i look into for a good pre built? Not sure i know enough to do a DYI build lol

Alright time for an update...

Had a good scare lastnight. Some how a fan got turned off in my grow area while i was at work and temps got up to 115° AHHHHHHHH!

Hopefully my AKR is doing ok so i guess we will find out in the next few days. It hasnt broken soil yet so im hopeing that it was enough to protect it from frying.

On to the good news now, my Q1 seed popped and got planted (after i got temps back down). Im excited to see how it turns out. I wouldnt have even considered buying it but got it free so maybe it will suprise me.

Also ordered a new intake fan that will be here in 3 days. I cant wait to get rid of the crap intake i have now. I think that should be the last adjustment i need to make to have everything running smooth.

I switched from MH lights to LED last year & it has made a huge improvement in lowering the heat in my tent & I am getting about 90-100grams (little over 3oz) per plant now. I went with the Spydr600 LED but there are much cheaper LED's out now that will do just as good or even better...
If you're interested in LED there are several companies that advertise on this site.

Depending i can get a mars hydro 300 w for around 70 bucks. I actually just bought a global star 300 w with switches for flowering and bloom (both switches on = full spectrum) it was originally a 279 dollar light but i got it for 70 bucks brand new. A buddy has the same light and has had amazing results for such a budget light. Good leds can be found for a decent price it just takes some searhing and researching

Heh. Gotta be a country specific thing then. I couldn't find a decent light for cheap. That also shipped to my location. Not without a hefty $70~ postage.

Whats up!

So iv been doing research on LEDs... Holy crap thats alot of fighting lol. Im gonna keep lurking the subject and get some more input before i dump money into something i might not want in the end. BUT!!! If you have any input on the subject please feel free to jump in. Im still learning!

Now for the fun stuff. The AKR has fully broken soil and is on its way to standing upright! The Quick One has also broken soil for the most part, id say itll be fully out and going by the end of tomorow.

My Northern Light x Big Bud seed might be a loss. Its split and looks like a root was or maybe is starting but its definitly not white... Looks kinda rotten to me so idk. Im gonna give it another day and if it doesnt go then i may start a bubblelicious. Havnt decided yet but thats for another time.

t5's..... cheap to run and less heat......
umm lemon haze, berry haze, sour diesel,
royal cheese, power flower...1 month veg ... some 2 weeks veg some seedlings...T5'S that's it for light

oh later I flower under 4 1000w hps but veg is t5'5
