Here we grow again! Blue Dream X2

Day One...

Hey RIU!

About 10 years ago I first got the grow bug. I bought some equipment, soil, and quality genetics...went to town. A few years later life's shit hit the fan and I was forced to sell my stuff . Long story and I don't want to bore anyone. 4 long years later I started again. Then suddenly about a year and a half later, I was clipping my budz and I realized I did not want to do that anymore. That grow had a LOT of popcorn budz and it was hours of tedious clipping. I sold that stuff as well.

A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with diabetes and did some serious research. I discovered that CBDs can aid the body in producing insulin. That mixed with a couple of other stress exacerbated illnesses, topped with severe anxiety and bouts of depression...I am once again a farmin' . Actually, I have another less serious reason to grow. I have a friend that I have known almost half my life. Even though all of my grows have been of much higher quality than anything he has been able to produce. He insists that he is a better grower than I based solely on the fact that he has been growing many more years than I. I want a chance to shut his mouth once and for all!

Unfortunately, I live in a fascist state and must fear cultivating medication. Even though several states around me are wising up to the tax advantages and realization that fighting a 'war' to eradicate a plant is completely pointless not to mention ungodly expensive. If I go to these places to purchase medication and get busted crossing back over to my state...federal offense. As for getting busted growing...I am not a paranoid and feel that I have a better chance of coming home from work and finding Taylor Swift naked in my bed.

So, about a week and a half ago I got a Spider Farmer 2x2 complete kit and some Blue Dream beans from Nirvana. I got my usual and favorite soil Fox Farms Happy Frog and Techna Flora's recipe for success kit and away I go! Two nights ago I germinated 2 seeds. They popped this morning and are now resting happily in soil in my tent under LED bulbs.

As the grow goes on I will be posting pics and possibly some videos as well. Nothing worth seeing right away...I mean who needs to see a couple of SOLO cups full of dirt right?

See y'all in a couple of days when there is something worth showing off.

Ok Ok I know we have all seen seedlings. And mine are no special seedlings as to deserve the praise of other farmers. we all know it is not difficult to produce a seedling. Shit I did it in my mothers front yard with bag seed 42 years ago., it lived 2 days. The real grow begins now. I would be honored if others would view it with respect and positive energy. All that being said I am a proud father so...

3/8 Day 7

Girls were getting stretchy. So, I buried the stems with fresh soil, I also lowered the light. I have never grown with LED and I was concerned that any closer may have burned 'em. But I think I may have been too cautious. I now have it about 12" from the plants. About another week for transplant I think.

3/10 Day 9

I believe lowering the light helped quite a bit. Also it seemed to me that the SOLO cups retained water and they were quite heavy for a few days. Not to mention the thin flimsy stems. Now I know that at this stage they are not going to have elephant trunk stems. But hey it’s my grow right? Anyway I put the fan in yesterday. The medium lightened up quite a good amount and the breeze will toughen the stem. Seeing as Uncle Joe is coming through soon I will be getting a second light an another fan for intake. So I will have intake, ambient, and outflow fans.

3/12 Day 11

I am very happy I added the interior fan and lowered the light. They are thriving and healthy...I am quite pleased.

What have you dimmed the light to.

It is not dimmable. I bought the kit off Amazon. I maybe should have popped the extra $ to get the SF-1000 instead of the 1000D.

Looks good from what I've seen, I'm sure a guy in here has the same kit, it's in the forum. @hotrodharley wonder if he got it.

Thank you for the compliment. I have read many of hotrodharley's posts. Very knowledgeable. He has been around RIU since some of the farmers here were in junior high.

You won't be disappointed with Blue Dream. I started growing about 12 years ago but my first grow was a complete failure. I didn't have success until about 10 years ago when I really got serious and purchased a decent grow tent and a 600w air cooled light with a T5 for veg. I like your soil mix. Happy Frog and Ocean Forest are my 2 favorites. I've never gotten a bad batch and all plants really seem to love the mix. I like to start my babies in straight happy frog. First transplant goes into a 50/50 HF / OF mix.

Blue dream was one of my first strains in my first grow tent under the 600w. To this day it was the most special and amazing pot I have ever smoked. And it was an incredible yeilder. You made an outstanding choice in strain selection. I ordered some BD seeds from Seedsman and have 3 total in flower at the moment and 6 or 7 in my cloner. Man I hope it's as special as what I grew 10 years ago. And I hope yours is too

Funny you should mention the combo FFHF and FFOF. I actually have always used HF solo. However, I was thinking about adding a small bag of OF to my 2 cu ft bag to use for the final pot. I don't want to go 50/50. Not saying anything against those who do or use OF for the whole shabbang. I just have read a lot off stuff saying it's pretty hot stuff. I am sure I could grow completely successfully with it. I am just a guy of habit and have always felt more comfy with HF.
