Here's the dilemma.......

I found a f'ing hermie yesterday. Late into flowering it must have over matured & got confused on me. When I checked the banana pods yesterday after isolating the little freak the pods didn't seem to have opened yet. But then I chopped it today & found open banana pods in areas I hadn't checked. A little worried I might have a pollinated crop . All remaining ladies are in final weeks. A couple due this week, next week, and also the week after.. & there are also some younger plants in there also. Not sure how it would effect my harvests if they did pollinate this late into flower. I'd appreciate any input.

Hey,

By the sounds of it, you should be ok. Obviously thing you should be concerned with is a drop in potency with your remaining females. One thing that I've noticed, which seems to coincide with decreased resin production as a result of being exposed to a hermie, is the pistils will start dying from the inside out. Normally they (pistils) die from the tips inward to the bract, not the other way around. When you see this, it's an indication that it's attempting to create seed(s), albeit late in the game, but it'll still switch it's energy to that task, instead of bud production, so you'll also notice a decrease in the fragrance from day to day, that smell of potency starts to diminish and by this point, you should always chop it down and move on.
