Initiative 28 would add a dispensary system to the current medical
marijuana law that requires patients to produce their own pot.
I'm a little confused here; have we forgotten that a large part of the patients in this program are on fixed incomes- think of the expense for them to grow their own, and this isn't a plant you can just grow.
Medicinal quality requires more than just planting a seed; all that does is bring more pot in the system. Most patient's don't realize that there are different strains for different symptoms- not to mention the natural ability to grow.
I support the idea of legal pot, but we need to educate our people first, then carry that education to the populous. This isn't an easy fix situation here. The media started in the early 60's bent the opinion of the American people, and our current "War on Drugs" is so filled with bias from that early propaganda that we have more on our plates than most people realize.
Personally, I believe, from historic observations; anything you give to the government, at any level, to oversee, tax, and regulate, gets completely ripped and tossed into something it should never have been. And the only people who benefit are those who hold the pens and sit at those $500 a plate dinners.
