Hermies

Got four plants atm one is throwing hermies like a mother fucker. Keep finding clusters of four hermies popping up. I did stress them as this is my first grow.

Not really looking for reasons for hermies as that info is easy to find. More so wondering if I throw some plants in from veg how long can I leave the plant that is throwing hermies in the room without pollinating any of the new veg plants? I'm just thinking about cutting the plant that is herming when I put the others into flower immediately but if I can safely wait a week or I'd let it fatten up more.

Im confused, is your plant in flower or veg, if it has nuts and no bud then it would be a dude no? Your wording is slightily confusing. You could put the plants in there and mist them often to try to deactivate the pollen since water does that but that is less thatn appealing to do for a long time. Could rip the leading sacs, they will swell before they open and then start to split, and then that buys you a few days.

To answer your question, you can't leave a flowering male with newly added females safely and not get seeds. Maybe if you started flowering every plant at the same time and removed males as soon as they were spotted. But if your male is ahead of the females in flower, then that male will be spreading pollen long before the first pistils showed on the females. Meaning that as soon as pistils start poppin', your dude may have already impregnated them. Best thing to do is spray that male down with water to kill any active pollen that might be falling from it and remove it from the flowering room. Then spray the whole entire room a couple of times with water (including the non hermie plants) to kill any pollen left in the room. After about a week (2 to be super safe), it should be cool to add more plants. But as a precaution, you might want to spray those down as well before you add them.

Sorry didn't specify that the four I was speaking of were placed in flower 3/9 all are female with buds on them. I have others in veg about ready to be placed into flower. One of the four in flower are throwing herms. These four plants are already seeded which is fine.

OR Stoner basically answered it though. Pollen if on the new plants or even on the walls of the room can impregnate them even before the plants show signs of sex. I'll chop the plant soon then do the precautionary shower.

Lol dudes just shooting off prematurely :) but Ya I you see pollen sacs spray everything with water to avoid seeds.
