A $60 cooler is an epic waste of money but keep trying to sell people on it. I grow fine in a $5 rubbermaid.

4 things i put in the Igloo,,,

water
veg nute
bloom nute
ph down

no other additives $$$$ to fight root problems or algae growth. my water stays crystal clear, clean and the right steady temp of 67 f for days on end,,,

i'd rather invest 60 bucks on the Igloo than all the $$$ for the additives to "fix" problems,,, the 6.99 i paid for the 7 rubber maids was epic waste. they sit out in the junk pile now.

i'm in a sealed room running 2,600 watts with air temps at 78-82 f. common sense tells me a bucket of water sitting in that room will be at room temperature within a short period of time,,,,

but hey, i'm just boomerb,
growing things my way,,,,

do not measure ph. grew my first two plants and fried a good seed so i grew some bag seed. grew for ten days with no nuts after they rooted. moved from humidity dome to hydro set up. i have 315 watt cfl that i dont turn off. you should see the siza of my branches after a month and a half grow cycle. i added three ml of technaflora. they started burning before i added the nuts. i added them for more n. the plants were a very light green. the roots sit in the water that has three air stones and pumps water twelve hours a day from the bottom to the top back to the bottom.

hydro rule one
1 you have to have a digital ppm/ph meter
2 ph up/ph down
3 hydro nutes
4 good water

save your plants buy switching to soil
but they do look like they need nutes but thats just a guess

i have one of them ones where you put the drips on a lil tube. can someone inform me on ph. i mean i get water from the tap and let it sit for five days. is that water not ok. do i have to measure ph on a day to day basis. how can i make ph go up or down without going and spending money on ph up down.

You need to pH the water between 5.5 and 6.5 to avoid nutrient lockout. Measure it after adding nutrients. Spend the money for the pH up and down. They help maintain a more consistent pH than any home remedy. Avoid organic acids like vinegar and lemon juice.

PH is VERY important, one of the main things to check when growing like $20 at hydro store for ph up & down and tester get that together if you want to continue. Good luck!

Nice 4 Rules Every Hydro person should know about these or have them posted in there room for a reminder everyday.

these hydro guys
tell you to go get a tote and an airpump with air stone and fill with water and your ready to grow
but what they dont tell you is you need a ph and ppm meter

they told me to get a ph meter and i know it is very important. i just dont have the money to buy the digital stuff. Maybe after a couple silver surfer vap sales ill be golden. Thank you very much. i printed the four things to have and they are hanging up.

You dont test the PH because you cannot afford a digital meter?
My tap water is over 7.0 and, on my first grow I did not test PH and my plants really suffered. Wrong PH upsets nutrient balance and absorbtion. I still use a $5 dropper test kit and my latest are doing very nicely. See pic.

Yep, a dropper kit will work just fine for checking pH, its just a digital one is more convenient for quick readings. Remember, we are looking for an acceptable pH range here, so testing accuracy isn't that important.
