Hey guys, need help with my lighting..

Hey, so right now I'm running a 600w flower room, with 4 3 foot plants in it. One is growing lots of weak looking shoots, the rest look great.
Now I have a few plants in veg that are ready to go into flower. My room is 3.5x4ish. 6.5 foot high. The 4 plants are in the middle, I'll post pics, but do you think I could squeeze two more in, each about a foot and a bit tall? I was thinking about moving the weak plant into the corner, opening up a chunk and dropping the Russians in the open space. Or could I spread them out, giving equal space to all 6? I don't wanna short change my plants here guys I need help lol.

The first two pics are the big plants. The weak one is in the front left position. I have about a foot on each side length wise, and a foot each side in width left to work with.

The bottom pic are my Russians. Stinky lil bastards, making the big plants look bad lol. I'd really like to make room if I can.
Would I not get enough light to them all raising my lights, right now they're 5 inches from the canopy, so that they all get hit? Or will it mess up my big 4, but making them share? I have the option to add cfl as well. I already am running a couple underneath and on the weaker side of the hood. Thanks.

Those four plants are the most you should put in there. And raise the light up before you burn the .

Hps way to close to the plants

Really though yeah? How far should I be then? My fan keeps the temps no higher than 27. My 600w mh could handle the tops resting on the glass. The hps provides more lumens I know that, but shouldn't the heat be relative? Or is it like a lumen burn?

Yes you are growing them way to big I would keep them around 2 feet at the most

I'm in my third week now. They are looking nice but I wish they smelled a bit heavier then my Russians in veg.

You get away with 6 inches from the tops yeah? I did burn mine a bit, had to pull the lights up, yellowed out my leaves a bit up top. I'm at about 8 to 10 now, but wanna bring em down again. This weekend I'm planning on training them out a bit more , hopefully making room for two more ready to go

i would suggest two thing to you tyler.

1) take a pike for us with a lighter as close as you can to some of the colas. This will give us an idea of scale size. Also thumb the flower open a little so we can see density @week 3 if that makes sense. end of week 3?

2) try more smaller plants next time. Artificial lighting just doesnt penetrate well at all. 600ws are well a joke as are 1ks or any artifical lighting imo. nothing is like sunlight in controlled greeenhouse. but we do what we can right?

3) i would suggest running your hps through an air cooling system. i like to just attach my 8" filter and fan thru my lights. The final light in chain pulls cool air from inside room creating negative pressure. Fan is always attached to filter pulling air not pushing. As pushing air stresses your fittings and leads to leaks, detachments etc. Just use duct tape when pulling air. It will all suck itself together stronger and stronger. If that makes sense. Another great thing when you see negative pressure. If you have bags over your windows sheets etc. You will see how much air you are pulling and leaking. (sheets/bags balcking out windows will reverse and suck fresh air in from outside) this will show you how leaky your room is and why you shouldnt consider CO2 until you have everything else PERFECT

This kind of helps you all around. you want more plant. more strains. great. just run them smaller. try flowering after just 3-6 inch plant not a mm more. Also i would suggest making a simple aero setup. You can make one for about $40 and 30-60mns. You will thank me later when you never have to put in a lengthy watering session again. Also no bugs and MUCH cleaner. Dont be worried about nutes those are SUPER easy.

edit: when you take your pics take them like 3 min before the lights come on with natural lighting to remove the yellows of the hps. dont do this everyday obv but do it now once or twice laer to give us good idea.

ill say this too. never buy an LED system. Junk. Idiots saying they are more cool etc etc. 600w is 600w. the heat is the same. sure you can have led similar to 600w drawing like 3-400 but its not the same output power. its just a big scam. only people that grow junk/testing stuff or some micro growers and lastly just the bullshit talkers that have never grown, endorse leds

p.s. your current hood height will be perfect when aircooled to touch

Thank you, i do plan for smaller plants next run. It's my first cycle, and i have alot on the go. To much maybe, but I learn better that way.
Again thank you. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. I might have to stick my other 2 in though , cause if I don't I'll be back at this point next cycle all over again.

when you run smaller plants cool your hoods like i said above (pulling not pushing air) and put the hood about 6-8" off canapoy the entire time. 2-3 weeks in build a cheap pvc enclosure and drop a scrog net from amazon on em.
