Hey guys, I've posted a thread on the website a while back as an amateur grower. I've successfully harvested two crops since then using two crappy Blurple lights, but now I am ready for an upgrade.

From my recent research it looks like DIY LEDs are where it's at right now and I've been eyeballing some HLG quantum boards, also not opposed to cobs, but I would really like to fill out my 4'x8' tent with as much efficient/quality lightpossible for a $600 max budget, Suggestions?

600 isn't enough. You might be able to work out a strip build with bridgelux eb for that but you won't be able to afford Samsung. Look into the last gen citizen cobs you might be able to get something cheap.

I did realize I may not be able to fill out the whole tent for flower with $600, but it would stand to reason I could fill half of my tent a 4x4 or maybe a bit more? I was also looking for advice on color Temps and just the difference in the board models. It just means I can't grow as many plants the next run, but I've still got about 550 (true watts) of blurple I could supplement with at the end if need be.

I prefer using 3000k it's perfect for veg and flower. Use your budget for a 4x4 if you diy you should be able to perfectly fill a 4x4 for $600 use the blurple on the other half
