This is one of the biggest problems facing gardeners as crops are often robbed by humans and animals alike. Here are some great tips for a outdoor grow.

• Deer:

To keep deer away from your crop some suggest using human hair clippings. Sprinkle a bunch around the perimeter of your garden and deer will smell it and not bother with your herb.

If you don't cut hair at home ask your barber for some floor sweepings to protect your vegetables.

Animal urine(garden supply store) can be used. Some other suggestions would be fox, wolf or coyote. - follow directions

• Rabbits, coons & other rodents:

Many rodents also fear the same predators as deer so the urine will already help here. To keep rabbits out you can save bacon grease from your breakfast and spread that around the perimeter of your grow area.

Rabbits avoid the smell of of vinegar so use corn cobs soaked in vinegar placed around your garden to keep rabbits out. These cobs can be re-soaked in the vinegar as needed.

Other suggestions are crushed red pepper or hot spices sprinkled around the plants. Mothballs could work for some animals but may draw attention.

*¤ Some of these methods will need to be repeated every so often and after rainfall.

one of the reasons i prefer indoor growing is there are considerably less pests to harm your crop. all ive run into indoors is a few gnats and a spidermite or two. i mean yes a cat did eat all of my babies at one point, but that was as much my fault
