Hi guys I'm new to this forum but not new as a grower.I'm growin indoor Himilayian Gold and White Widow plants from femenized seeds.HG is an AMAZING PLANT SO TOUGH AND HEARTY!White Widow is cool but NOWHERE as impressive as HG in the veg stage.Anyway I cloned for the 1st time both plants.I used rootone cloning powder and Jiffy pucks. The clones are 5 days old today. The they are under a heating pad with 10000 lumens above them and watered properly.I just was wondering if any cloning experts could tell me how they are progressing. They are not wilting, bending down or any signs of problems. Both clones seem to be growing. How long before I will see roots on my peatbags. Thanks Guy's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS:After 5 days if the clones were not growing woudln't they be wilted or bended stalk dowards as if dying?:o

should have a root system started at 7 or so days, and a full root system should be their by 14 days.
and you are somewhat right about if the clones werent growing. if they werent growing, or not growing right, they would be droopy, and you woulden`t see any new growth.
but from what you said they seem to be fine, if they are 5 days old and dgrowing then your on the right track... just wait another week or so and you should see roots comming out your peatbag....if you need anymore help just post, and welcome to rollitup :)

They will most likely root just fine. 10,000 lumens is probably a little bright for clones, unless they are fully rooted. The heat mat incorporated with dimmer flourescent light allows the lil plant to focus on developing roots, as opposed to growing vegetatively. That is why some people cut the large leaves off and or cut the blade tips off. This stops chlorophyll production and forces the plant energy into forming roots. The rooting gel or powder used provides the hormones necessary for developing said roots. The hormones tell the plant what to do. Not that there was anything wrong with what you did. Sagging leaves and droopiness is normal in the beginning stages of growth, when the roots develop and they start to uptake the nutrients, they perk right up good and strong. I have tried just about every method of cloning from rockwool cubes to building a lil aeroponic cloner. And tried just about every medium from sure to grow to ocean forest. Also tried a myriad of cloning gels and powders. The best method I have come up with to date that gets me 100% clone viability.
Clonex gel, Rapid rooters plugs, plugs presoaked with Jumpstart, B-52, Voodoo Juice, and Carboload (to feed the bene's in the Voodoo). Foliar sprayed daily until rooted with a weak mix of Jumpstart, B-52, and a surfactant. I use three 2' T-5 24w 5600K bulbs above the 7" dome. Guaranteed winners every time.
