hi, about the lights... and fertilizers

hi, i starting my first growth, and need some help.
i dont know what lights should i take.
i got the philips green 600w which has both mh+hps in the same light.
the other option is to buy 1 600w mh and one hps.
the brand options are:
Sylvania
Philips
SunMaster
General Electric
Grolux

about fertilizers, i understand that 20-20-20 is the best for veg.
will it be good for flowering too?

and one more question about the soil, which one should i take?
coco perlite
perlite vermiculite enriched with humus.

A lot of what you are asking is opinion and there won't be a single right answer. Here's my 2 cents.

For soil I like a mixture of Pro-Mix BX, perlite and vermiculite. I mix them at a ratio of about 6-1-1 and I add 2 Tbsp of Epsoma garden lime to every 4 gallons of soil I mix up.

For the light it seems to make sense to use the one you already have, at least I think you are saying you have a 600W that does both HPS and MH. The flexibility seems to be a plus.

20-20-20 is probably good for veg and something with less Nitrogen would be better for flowering.
