Hi everyone
Im an ex-Kiwi now living in UK and am attempting my first indoor grow. Ive grown once before back in New Zealand where I planted a seed in a pot on my balcony. I did no research on MJ growing at all (at the time I didnt even realise plants were male/female so I was pretty lucky that I didnt end up carefully nurturing a male). From reading these forums I now know that I pretty much did everything wrong but through sheer luck it grew into a pretty nice plant although I ended up having to bake with it as the smoke tasted so vile it almost brought a tear to the eye - probably due to my over-enthusiasm with Miracle-Gro - but it was still a nice feeling to get stoned off a plant Id grown myself.
This experience led me to completely underestimate how much harder indoor growing would be. Three weeks in and after successfully germing 17/20 seeds I have six plants remaining. After finally taking the time to research growing a bit more Ive sorted out the heat issues, put the fertilizer out of reach and have learnt to show a lot more restraint with the watering. I think that my biggest problem is that I find it really hard to just leave the plants alone to grow. Im worried now that if I ever have kids Im going to be that kind of mum who cant stop fussing and interfering and will probably guarantee them a lifetime of expensive therapy once they grow up.
Anyway I have found SO much helpful advice here and even in this short time have learnt heaps so thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to answer questions and post photos. Hopefully I will have at least one female survivor amongst my plants and will have something to harvest come summer.
