Hello everyone. I just have a couple of questions on my grow room. My room is 7' by 8' by 8.5' high. my questions are venting. what type of venting do I need? im a real handy man so I can rig up anything just about . so I would need a vent for air in and air out? would 6" be an ok size? what about temperatures... whats the ideal temps, from what I read its about 75f to 80f... also on the size of my room I was thinking about 2 1000w grow lights.. will this be enough? or will a third or even forth have to be installed. another question. Mylar will it help my babies with the light and temps? . That's all for now any comments would be much appreciated.

For a room that large i would just paint the walls flat white and save the money dont use mylar. However I suggest you put up a wall going across the center of the room and use one side for vegging other side for flowering. Venting is an easy part get a 6inch 300cfm fan and have it sucking FRESH air into the veg room then have a fan in the center wall sucking air from the veg room into the flowering room, then finally an exhaust fan in ceiling of the flowering room to pump all the used air outside.

Wow my room is actually 17 feet long I was just gonna use half then later on do a vegetation side and a flowering side but you know what that sounds like an even better idea. That's awesome Ok so that will cut it down to two 4' by 7' how many lights will I have to use.. must I go with the 100w on the vegetation side or should I use a 400 or 600 w. and on the flowering side this will be the 1000w lights 2 I presume in an area that's 28 sq feet.

Yeah that's big room 300 cfm may not be enough especially with 2 1000w lamp. Those are gonna give off some heat. I would use an 8'' fan. As far as splitting the rooms in half that should work. Anything lower than 500 cfms I think your gonna have serious heat issues. 1000w for early veg may be too strong so get one that you can adjust.
yeah 2 1000w (one for each side) is plenty.

The general rule is 1000 watt = 4x4. And the dimmable is a good idea for the little ones. I veg very successfully with a 500 actual wattage cfl array that I DIYed for a lot less than a dimmable hps. I use an inline fan, 8 inch, with an 8 inch PVC right angle on both sides Of the middle wall to keep the light where it belongs. The veg side has passive intake from a couple of 3 inch holes, then the center fan sends it to the flower room which has an 8 inch exhaust fan and carbon filter that moves major air and keeps the tent at negative pressure. So, I have a 3 car garage at my new place and first thing I thought was grow room! So I did it bought 2x 1000 galaxy select a watt, 12000btu window air, 2 inline fans, 3 wall fans, EVERYTHING I need. I have grown before on smaller level with 1 400 in past, here is my dilemma: The garage is 160 feet away from any power source (I may want to run enough electricity to even expand later since I have the room) but this wire is crazy expensive, sub-panel, things I didn't take into account when setting this thing up (stupid me). I want to know what size wire to run from main box into garage and what size amp sub panel, I have been getting a lot of different answers, I am going to invest a buttload to get this done right and if im going to do it right I want to do it right if that makes sense. Not to mention I don't want to burn the house or garage down
Any help would be appreciated.... Any questions you have if needed to help please ask THANKS

You would want to have the veg room about a fourth of the size of the flowering room if you are wanting a perpetual harvest.

Ok so things changed. Im building a room outside. It will be insulated. Temp controlled. The size changed to 10' by 14'. Mr. Solo dolo had said make my veg room 1/4 the size of my grow room if this is the case my veg room should be 2.5 by 3.5? I would like to start off with 10 plants. Would that be enough?
