Was wondering the same thing it just looks like the regular booster fan added onto say long venting or for bends to push air. The one I'm looking at is attached.
If he comes back and says its so I would be inclined to believe him

I would use an inline like that for the filter tho... Horsepower I guess but that's a bad ass duct fan

That's still a duct fan tho?... Will that have enough power pulling thru a filter?....
It works fine for me! Keeping a 1000w hps at 85f from 80f weather. However, ducts better be air tight or you will get insane noise and efficiency loss. But, NOTHING beats a good quality inline blower imo

Hi, welcome to RIU. There are many different approaches here, but im gonna guess lights on at night would be the cheapest for you, as you probably wont need a heater with two bulbs in a tent hopefully. During the day with lights off it shouldnt get too cold right?
No shouldn't get to cold. I mean the basement stays relatively cool. It is done, not really drafty. I mean it could be 100 out and basement gets to like 75. Just due to the fact it's like in the ground it stays cooler than rest of the house. Yea lights cheaper on over night but not much cheaper. But figured that's when it's cooler especially come summer months. I want to start over night and get into the routine of caring, watering, etc over night.

Its an inline fan the light and ducting wont mess with the grow room atmosphere Its all contained because when I'm hoppin I use co2. I don't know if it can push through a filter or not I don't use one. I use one of those airwhick timer prayers outside of the grow. it always smells like cookies and cinnamon.

Gotcha.... Filter puts a load on your fan

Thanks for input. Just trying to figure it all out. Got seeds coming tomorrow or day after. So wanna get everything figured out and bought. So I can start been a rough year not having a crop all summer.
Make sure you set the room up and get it running for a week or two before you plant. You want to get all the bugs worked out. heat, humidity, airflow you might want a separate circuit. I changed mine around three or four times and upgrade the breaker.

Basement has a 60a off of my 200a. Only got washer and dryer downstairs so got plenty to play with.

Hello all new here to RIU. I just recently acquired a grow tent and some lights from someone who had no use for them anymore and had them laying around. I have some grows under my belt but they are outdoors. Didn't get to grow this past season due to the reason was selling house and moving. I am now in my new location and have been a few months. My grow tent is 48"x48"x78". I acquired 2 400w hps systems they are magnetic not the digital kind and the tent. I have a few hundred to spend and have already bought new hps bulbs and 2 400w mh conversion bulbs for veg. I currently plan on upgrading my reflectors to air cooled to keep heat down, but for the time being I would just like to look into getting a exhaust fan and an intake fan. With both lights on since I would run over night the tent gets to about 85f. My tent is in the basement which stays a cool 65-70f during the day and somewhat cooler in night throughout summer and I'm sure will go down somewhat over winter. I plan on exhausting out the basement to the outside and pulling the cool basement air into tent. I run a dehumidifier in basement so stays in the 40-50 range. So my question is what kind of inline fan do I need, and exhaust fan? I wanna go 6 inch if possible for exhaust due to the reflector I'm looking at would be 6 inch for th air cooled. What are some good brands something quiet if possible that doesn't make loud noise? Also what are some good filters for smell?

I always tell ppl get the ipower filter, its cheap but effective, and both flanges come off easily, so u can reverse it for double life, and change out the carbon as needed... saves a ton in the long run.

Always go big on the fan, a 6" 440cfm or bigger, can always get a speed controller to turn it down, cant make a weak fan cool better....

If u can, i actually suggest popping a hole thru the wall (or thru a treated board mounted in a window... something) then run stove pipe w/ a cap on top, vent your exhaust 2ft above you roof..... go filterless.... drop a 4" next to it, with a dryer vent cover (rip out the flapper, but leave the critter guard) boom... intake. 4" inline w/ a bug screen, happy tent. Fresh outside air is even gonna feed ya plenty of co2 :)

No, gonna take out a small window and board it up and cut hole, the window is currently under the deck outside so it's out of view. Figure put fine screen on the end to keep bugs etc from getting in.
That sounds right........

The woodstove goes up tho..... Safety first

View attachment 3509571 Hydrofarm its like $50 I have this hooked up to 1000w and it works fine. I think its been running for 5 years at 11hrs a day. so you can say its been running for 2 1/2 years.
So bought this fan on eBay this same exact photo said booster fan, got the 8inch because it was rated at 400cfm, well received my package today and in it was an active air 8 inch inline fan 720cfm, was told to keep by company I bought from as this was their mistake. Guess I'll be getting a reducer and a controller to turn it way down, will be nice to have already when I decide to get bigger space.
