Hi NEW AFGHAni GroW could USE HelP!

I really don't have the money to get HID lights set up. I've basically pieced this all together with things around my house (example: i had a computer case so that is what i used). I just dont understand why they have the 60watt 2700's but not 100's. they actually had one pack of the 100's, but they were broken. but that is the first time i've ever even seen them.

I repotted my plant tonite. the new pot is bigger and i put on a white reflector over the soil so i hope the bottom branches get bigger !!! I cut a bit off for a clone, unfortunately its really really short. We'll see....

yeah but if you do the math on how much you spend on all those cfl bulbs and power stips and little adapters and or sockets you could have easily paid for the 70 dollar hps! save your money for a bit or use ur TAX RETURN and order one from Sun Systems!!

you really should avoid repotting your plant all the time, it will stunt its growth. anywho, happy growing and good luck.

no tax return for me i am self employed. I didn't buy much more than 20$ worth of stuff, the rest i had around the house

I only repotted again due to the newly acquired larger space it has. I had not originally planned to have another space.

So I just wanted to share a story with you about what a DICK I AM lol. I wanted to enrich the air in my grow room with Co2 but, of course, im poor so I cant afford to run out and get tanks and regulators and all this for one little plant. So I searched through the DIY forum and found a tutorial about a C02 "generator" if you will. simple concept right, yeast, sugar, and water in a 2 liter bottle. with a hose out to my garden. So against the advice of my friend (coach,instructor,mentor,mr miagi) I put this contraption up on the shelf above my garden, as Co2 is heavier than air and therefore would, essentially, rain down onto my plant. an hour later i go back in to check on it and my whole room smells like fucking bread. I entered my grow room to find that the yeast had bubbled over the top and down the hose of the bottle and coated my grow room with its nasty rising, eating, living, sticky ass self. I had to clean active yeast out of my damn light ballast with q tips for half an hour. it sucked ass. i thought someone might enjoy to hear the story, but due to its nature I cant really tell it to everyone lol.

oh man, that sucks. that really sucks.

some of that shit got into my medium and over the course of an hour the plant was on its way out. I checked it out this morning and it was THRIVING, looked great, less than an hour later I went back in and it was wilted over like it was about to die. it was the craziest damn thing I have ever seen. that yeast about did it in apparently. I immediately dumped a shitload of clean water over the roots and started the clearex cleaning process and as soon as I did that, it perked straight back up. weird. I wish I could post pics, the damn thing just will not let me!

why cant you post pics? what happens when you try?

It says a security token is missing. I emailed the administrator, still no response.

I have been in the garden all day and i really wanna get my pics up! I got my environmental controls down and chopped the top and rooted it, hopefully soon there will be 2!

so here are some new photos - you'll see my setup is rather messy but i think functional! i plan to add a better exhaust/intake setup but for now.....

now, for everyone who forgot, this plant is now only 4" tall. but healthy as all hell. What does anyone think? Suggest? Whatever? Just found what i'm pretty sure is evidence of FEMALENESS!!!! WOOHOOO!!! So I gave her another light tonite as a gift.

lookin good! didnt you cut a clone off too?

yep i cut a clone, but if you can imagine the plant is only 4" tall now, the clone is tiny, so i'm hoping it works out......

thats great! it doesnt really matter if your clone is little, if it takes it will retain the ag of the mother plant, so since you cut it in flowering as soon as it roots it will be ready to flower too. this will produce you a really funny lookin tiny little plant with a bud on top, like it has an afro so you will have a baby with an afro and a baby with big hands!!

I followed your advice last night and tried again to upload my photos, still no go. I even used **internet explorer** and the security token was still missing, whatever that means. hopefully i get a response today from the admin.

have you noticed no one else has written in this thread for like the last 75 posts?

OK chica, I finally did it!! I got my photos uploaded, but I had to do it one at a time! anyways, you should check out what happened yesterday when that yeast got in my medium!

so where are the photos of the yeasty grow?

go to my profile and check out my pics. it is the only one that looks like the plant is gonna die. that happened in a matter of minutes, then reversed itself just as quickly, craaaaazy! it was scary.

no updates in a while, whats the happs? you gettin any buds yet? and the clone?

hey hey - not alot of action really... the afghani is entering flowering, so many ripe green new growth but she's still a midgit and its so damn cute! the other seedling i planted is 3 sets of leaves high, not as compact as the first. I transplanted it tonite, didnt really see an encouraging amount of root action but we'll see....
the clones i took were so small, i think i fucked that all up, but they are in shot glasses with some peat pellets, coveres in little plastic sandwich bags like mini greenhouses. i dont know what kind of lighting to give them, so i've left them in the 18/6 box. i'll get some photos soon, i just feel like im going to see some good shit happening soon upstairs in teh flowering cabinet...

if your clone was cut from a flowering plant you should keep it in flower i think. butif it is already in veg, fuck it. let it go clones seem to be taking root though?

as for the "big" one , i think you should see some amazing things happen soon. if im not mistaken afghani is one strain that will grow a lot in flowering. like triple its size. anywho, keep me up to date.
